I do it all the time and, until yesterday, not a single other Xterra driver has even looked in my direction. But yesterday, I saw a guy, maybe a little older than me, in a 09+, take a good long look at my X as we passed on the highway. I nodded and waved, and he took up the slack in his jaw to smile and wave back. That right there made what money and time I've spent on my meager mods so worth it. :)

I waved at every Xterra I saw on my trip to Colorado last summer. My wife just smiled and laughed as I recieved very few waves back. I still wave at most but I've got better luck waving at farm trucks.

I try to make eye contact with every single X-driving soccer mom I see!
Seriously though, I think 3 out of every 4 X's here in the city are grocery getters. There are a few Xs around with some chops, and I make a point to give a lil' wave

Most of the Xs I see are Soccer Mom Mobiles running around on Post. I don't nod or wave don't need them overreacting and stirring some sh*t, majority of the wives on post swear they are the hottest things on earth and everyone wants to sleep with them. If I see Xs out on the road though I'll nod and throw up a few fingers from whichever hand is on the wheel.

I waive at X owners when I see them or if it looks really good I may not waive because I am regaining control of my X after rubber necking to look at it. I have even gone up to them and talked to them and asked them i they were a forum member with anyone. Little sales pitch never hurts.

I got those types here too, with the 10" stacks coming out of the bed.

I get sick every time I see them. There's some tool here too with a Raptor (maybe 3 here on campus) that tries to drag race anything that has more than two wheels. I met him and asked him if he'd ever taken it off road...

"Took it out once on a dirt road going to a campsite once."

Those BFGs aren't for nothin there bud.

Nope, dont wave. Most X drivers I see try not to make eye contact with me. Jeeps, though, they look and wave, haha!

There are a few black 1.5gen SE's running around town (I'm biased) that I'll look harder at because they're just like mine. I see how faded the grill and bumpers are and just smile because MINE LOOKS BETTER.

I was sitting at a light not long after we painted my plastics and a black dude rolled up beside me in the next lane over in an identical truck. We made eye contact, I gave him a big "what's up" head nod, and he looked at me like I was nuts. Once the light turned green, he sped off like lightning. I just shrugged it off.

You gotta understand...those folks don't know thier X like you do... keep waving. If you get the chance say 'nice truck you got there.' Sooner or later they will begin to appreciate it like you do yours. I nod all the time at folks. Lots in my neck of the woods. Plenty of jeeps too. But the Xers do at least nod back, even the soccer moms. Maybe cause I'm always blasin jazz out da window. lol :D

I used to wave at other X's, and after countless blank expressions and no waves back, I stopped. I think the only modded X I see on the regular is a red gen 1 with no roof rack, possibly no mud flaps or step rails; I can't remember. It's all Fords, Chevys, Dodges and Jeeps around here.

I've gotten more waves, nods and shakas (

) from Jeeps. It's a dirty feeling :( Haha

Honestly, I get more recognition from Jeepers and FJ drivers than from other Xterra owners. And there's a couple of guys in Zukes and a nicely modded Hardbody in the area that I get the nod from.

I never waive to other Xterras around here, I used to try and waive at other 4X4's but half the time they just turn away and act stuck up, that is how most Jeepers act around here for the most part too, not all but most do.

They are just mad cause you can do more then them and did it without being part of the bandwagon.

The modded rigs will get more "respect" than my stock one from ANYONE, much less another X.

If you happen to live around me, and you see a 2nd gen Shrocked with PIAA lights on the bumper, don't wave. The guy is my future father in law and has NO clue why you'd be waving. His son built that truck and then quit paying the payment on it, so "dad" repo'd it from son. He paid it off and drives it around town. I waved at him earlier today and he just looked at me funny- I've been dating his daughter for two years!

Yeah I do if it's modded up. Other wise odds it's a soccer mom or some other sort. I did see a yellow 1st gen tire on roof and cb antenna swaying, and some kind of front bumper attachment yesterday was too far away to wave or anything.

I forgot, there is a guy down here I wave/converse with when I see him. He lives across from me. There's also another seXterra guy here, but I don't know him and never see him. Also, a few of you who went to Coal Creek later last year may remember a fronty guy. He lives near me as well.

I think that is the one that lives near me (Marsing, ID). Did he have "Calamini" in the front windshield? He's a cool guy, I can never seem to catch him and talk to him tho, haha!
