Woohoo! Time to happy dance! I just found out that the guy who bought my ultramatch'd out SR-25 is willing to sell it back to me for what he paid minus the value of the (very effin expensive) scope which he broke....

Nice! You'll definitely have to throw up pictures when you get it back.

I'm STOKED because I finally scored 2 PSA stripped lowers. Been trying to get my mitts on one for some time now and finally did. Haven't decided what I want to do with it yet, though. SBR? Precision Rifle? Perhaps a 7.62x39 AR?

www.palmettostatearmory.com they will pop in stock a couple times a week but only for a little while (15 minutes). You can also check aero precision. They have lowers online for $200 a piece. They are quality but overpriced. Sign up for email notifications places for when items come in stock or do like i did and check PSA multiple times a day, every day, until I catch them in stock. I can PM you when I find lowers somewhere if you want but you'll have to act FAST to get one.

Got to actually pattern my Benelli Nova Tactical today. The targets are 8" I believe.

On the left was Federal 00buck at 10yds standing. Not a super tight group by any means. But the nova tactical is just cylinder bore and is not threaded for chokes so ill take it. Should be fine for home defense as I don't have any sight lines that long.

The right target was a Remington slug from 30yds. I was impressed with that. I haven't adjusted the ghost ring sights and I was just kneeling, not on a rest or anything.

Had fun shooting it, probably will look to get a good quality light and mount, and maybe one of the 4 round sidesaddles for it.

One question. You guys that do use a shotgun for HD. How do you load and store it? It's 7+1 and I plan to keep a round chambered. Just not sure if I should download the tube by a round or 2 to keep the spring in good shape. Also I don't have kids or pets so its going to be left out for quick access. Just don't want it to be blatantly obvious and I don't really like it under my bed.

I live with 2 other people, and even though I trust them, I don't keep mine loaded. Even when I'm home though, I may keep them in the magazine/tube, but not chambered.

Mine is between my bed and my night stand, along with a polytac HP light and my glock 19. When I'm up for the day i slide it under my bed.

EDIT: I probably need to take this discussion to the shotgun room or something since it doesn't involve pics.

I'm going to keep a round in the chamber. I live with another person but they know the gun will be loaded and how to safely handle firearms should they have to go in my bedroom. So I shouldn't have any worries there. I may just keep it on the other side of the nightstand or something while I'm sleeping and put it under the bed out of sight during the day. Mainly just wondering if I should keep the tube completely loaded or not.

tube full and one laying in the chamber with the bolt locked open...even with a 2 year old, I figure the safety's on and if my wife fights to get the bolt dropped, my 2 year old should be able to do it easily ;) err...I mean, she won't be able to ;)
oh, and it's beside the bed on her side, since shotgun is her position.

A buddy at work let me borrow his Aimpoint Comp M2 on a Larue mount. I mainly wanted to borrow it to see if I liked shooting through a red dot with the fixed front sight post. About to go shoot it now, but just looking through it the FSP doesn't really bother me

^ good lookin build. How do you like the Charlie rail? Been tossing around getting one for my next build.

I like the p95! The extended mags are sweet. I've got some 33rd glock mags. Luckily for me 9mm glocks are so plentiful the mags are as well, including the 33rd ones. I can usually snag them for about $36-$40 which is cheaper than some standard cap mags cost for other pistols. Been out to shoot it much?

Pic thread: just put this bravo rail on my dads PSA upper yesterday. I actually remembered to take pictures of the whole process so I'm gonna make a detailed "how to install FF rail using existing barrel nut"

What do you think of that charging handle, and how much was it?

How much wider than stock is it? On par with a large bcm gunfighter or smaller? I'm really liking the ambi, but, I want one that's markably wider...especially for my non-cycling upper...(gonna build a 24" bull barrel w/o gas port so it has to be manually cycled after each shot.)

Just got this today: Ruger P95 9MM, My wife and I had been looking for something both of us would like and could both use...she has small hands and a lot of guns slides were hard for her to pull back but this one did the trick.

How do you like the hogue stock? Contemplating one for my .204 and ditching the dinged up wood. Think it's any lighter than a wood stock would be? Give us a range report some time and enjoy shooting readily available ammo!

So far so good, I'll give a range report tomorrow afternoon/evening, might take the gopro and set it up so ya'll can see the fun...

I'm seriously considering making a mold and trying to make a custom fiberglass stock that fits ME perfectly, like no other stock possibly could...I'm almost afraid of how obscenely heavy that could turn out though, cause I'd have to make it epoxy filled so it was extra hard and didn't have the potential to crack, or screw with accuracy. In the end I want this gun to be a 1000m tack driver ;)

Good looking gun man. I've almost pulled the trigger on a long range .308 a few times, just have bigger priorities now.

Plus I'd have to go to a buddies farm to shoot much more than 250yds

Hey, 250yds isn't an easy shot for most people...grab one and work your way out ;)

So, here's the range report...

200m zero was 100% successful, shot 7 rounds at 25m to make sure I was on paper, drilled the bull so I moved to 100m for the next 3, was acceptably on paper still then moved to 200m for the next 10.

image-893870233.jpg

There are 8 holes on this target, 4 are in the 10 ring into the bull, this was my zeroing. The other two were lower and right off of this narrow target. The total grouping in the bull is less than .75" center to center on the 4 round cluster. I'd say the rifle performed very acceptably, as did my ballistic calculation math, given that the single in the 10 ring was before the wind picked up, then the three on top of each other were with a 21mph side wind, which I calculated and adjusted for ;)

All in all, love the gun, and recommend anyone else looking for a hunting or medium-long range target rifle jump all over one of these monsters!

The one GOOD thing that came from me working for Garda....about 6 months ago, rumors started flying around that Garda was going to start selling off their shotguns and revolvers, and I got in on one of the 870s. Finally got to pick it up today!

8930286684_9b0b873102_c.jpg

I ran the date code on the barrel and got a manufacture date of April 2004. This gun bounced around for thousands of miles in the rack of an armored car for YEARS, up until 2010-11 when they took the shottys off the trucks. Since then, they've sat in a vault collecting dust. This thing is in ROUGH shape, but that's exactly why I bought it. Eventually, I'll put a collapsible stock w/ a pistol grip on it, and turn it into a duty/3Gun gun. I'll need a longer barrel for the 3 Gun, but the current 18" barrel is perfect for what I need it for.

This is my 3rd 870.

Got really bored Monday and decided to do to work on one of my Glocks. Did some combat cuts on the mag well, removed finger grooves, under cut the trigger guard and a crazy ass stippling job while blending the Grip Force adaptor. Here's some pic. I also did some YouTube vids if ya wanna see the process. Just search HKATT.
