I was not sure where to post this, but since this thread seems to be the most popular in the firearms area, I thought this might be best.
I figure most of you on here are intelligent about owning your guns, but it is nice to have reminders every now and then from someone who deals with the scum of the earth.
Here in Idaho, firearm thefts are skyrocketing. In one case, a handgun was taken and tracked to Virginia 3 days later. So, those of you that own firearms, please make sure they are in a secure locked location (preferably in a safe heavy enough that more than one person is needed to lift it). Theives are getting bold enough to start stealing the safes with weapons in them and put them in the getaway vehicles. Also, MAKE SURE you write down the serial numbers of all your guns AND take pics of them for your own records. IF you do not have a serial # (been taken off), enscribe your own. This is basically the only way to track a gun if it is stolen. No serial # = police unable to really help you.
Umm, I think that's about it. Please spread the word to your other gun owning friends. Thefts are only going to get worse in the forseeable future.
