And just picked this up tonight. Complete M&P-15 lower. Soon getting a rock river tactical upper in .223.

Also have a scoped out 10/22 and a 1910 Winchester pump action in 22LR. Pics on those when I get around to digging them out.

Holy crap no! That's fantastic for killing someone, but, they'll still go through walls in bad ways.

Haha Well, what do you recommend?

He said LEOs carry them etc. Compared to the Federal Hydro Shock, the Speer Gold Dot did way more damage in ballistics gel tests.

Prime, how do you like your S&W .40? We have one, don't particularly like the factory trigger-pull.

Honestly, the trigger is just OK. It's clean enough that I can shoot it accurately but it does feel like it has a lot of reset/takeup. What really sold me on the M&P was the grip feel in my hand, being able to swap the mag release (I'm a right handed shooter but I've always released mags with my index finger faster and with less reach than my thumb), and having 15rds of .40 per mag. Maybe one of these days I'll get a trigger job done and it'll be a much better gun to shoot.

That's the problem, they're made to do massive damage like that, you need something that's designed to spend *all* of it's energy in the first thing it hits. If that's a wall, great, if it's a person, even better...

Over penetration is a deadly thing that some people forget to consider.

Grab a few different types of ammo, make some "walls" out of drywall and 2x4's and test penetration on those rounds. Anything more than 2 "walls" is too dangerous for usage in house. I'm fond of having one magazine that's just for in home stuff...

Went with the Remington 9mm Golden Saber +P 124 grain.

Agreed with dedicating one mag for home defense. When I got home I immediately loaded one mag with the defensive rounds.

Bought two more boxes of Federal range ammo too. Love those.

Walmart, Academy Sports, and an outdoor shooting range were completely out of 9mm, so I purchased from the indoor gun range I got my gun from.

The USPc is perfect for me as far as ergonomics. The grip is not to short and the angle of the grip to the frame fits me really well. The ambidextrous mag release works for me too so I can drop the magazine with my middle finger of my right hand so I don't have to reach with my thumb and change my grip. When I bought it, it was a type 2 trigger setup which is DA/SA with a thumb safety/de-cocker. It was okay but the weight of the DA trigger pull was ridiculous and damn near impossible to get an accurate shot from the DA position. I ordered the LEM trigger kit from H&K directly and swapped it in myself. It eliminates the thumb safety and gives every pull a consistent 5-6lb release. If you keep the type 2 main & hammer springs it makes it closer to 4lbs. Which is what I did.

Despite having a 4lb trigger pull, the LEM trigger has about 1/2" of zero resistance take up. So you still have to be very deliberate in order to fire it. So it's still completely safe. In the same way that a Glock is.

That trigger sealed the deal for me. Best handgun I own.

I've been looking at the S&W Shield in 9mm for my wife just because of the small frame.

Snapped a couple pics of my AR and my new Glock 19

-Used this setup to kill some coyotes over break. Couldn't dish out the cash for a leupold 1-4 "tactical riflescope" so the one on it is actually a leupold shotgun scope with their "turkey plex" reticle. 1-4x and under $200. Does the trick great!

here is the new G19, holster was made by Ryan Davenport

My first shotgun was a single shot 20...I hated that thing. Dad said that I could move up in the world when I could get good with that...taught me how NOT to waste ammo/shots. He regrets that now, as I can pretty much out-shoot him in the duck blind with my 870. Hehehe.

Yea it was the first 12ga my dad got me when I was young. Thing kicks like hell compared to my 12ga auto. My dad lives in IN and I'm in IL. He gave it to me a cple years ago and I was basically like, what the hell am I suppose to do with this? He said he doesn't want it sittin in his closet either.
