Oh for sure. Talking to the sales guy who is also a CHL trainer suggested the Speer Gold Dot.

Holy crap no! That's fantastic for killing someone, but, they'll still go through walls in bad ways.
Prime, how do you like your S&W .40? We have one, don't particularly like the factory trigger-pull.
Haha Well, what do you recommend?
He said LEOs carry them etc. Compared to the Federal Hydro Shock, the Speer Gold Dot did way more damage in ballistics gel tests.
That's the problem, they're made to do massive damage like that, you need something that's designed to spend *all* of it's energy in the first thing it hits. If that's a wall, great, if it's a person, even better...
Over penetration is a deadly thing that some people forget to consider.
Grab a few different types of ammo, make some "walls" out of drywall and 2x4's and test penetration on those rounds. Anything more than 2 "walls" is too dangerous for usage in house. I'm fond of having one magazine that's just for in home stuff...

@prime how do you like your USP compact? i was just looking at getting a sub and the shield came up quite often around forums 3.1 and fairly cheap.
Kydex Holster?
Nice touch Hans! I think the XDm's look sweet when the stamps get colored. Great job.
Hey, is that my old single shot 20ga????
My first shotgun was a single shot 20...I hated that thing. Dad said that I could move up in the world when I could get good with that...taught me how NOT to waste ammo/shots. He regrets that now, as I can pretty much out-shoot him in the duck blind with my 870. Hehehe.
