Whats the trigger like on the M&P 9mm? Long break?

I'm trying to decide on a handgun for CCP, but I found that I don't like the long break on XDms

It has a bit of take up since you have to pull the bottom part of the trigger some to deactivate the safety. After that its not bad at all. A lot of people don't like the factory M&P trigger but for me its just fine. Its a bit gritty feeling at first, but it breaks in nicely. The Shields trigger is much better than the full size M&P, and it has far fewer rounds through it.

I'd say the M&P trigger is pretty close to the xd trigger, I've never shot an xdm but, I think they're pretty much the same though

The only thing I could find to gripe about my M&P was the trigger, don't get me wrong it was "ok" I just thought they could do better. You want a great CCP gun with a phenomenal trigger check out the Walther PPQ.

I would love to get my hands on a PPQ. I've had a hard time finding one that isn't ridiculously priced though.

Here is just a taste of what I have. Lots of others, but these are my favorites.

I like how your EBR and Glock have some brown/DE going on. I also have the Magpul DE going on with my EBR. I need to get a DE stock though.

Yes I dig it as well. They are different shades but that's a non issue. I'm actually tossing arou the idea of painting my stock multicam (or at least trying) when I upgrade to a FF rail. Haven't decided yet though. I might practice on some other stud first.

Well even though I started this thread I have not had much activity in it other than just getting to see some really nice guns, that is until my wife got the fever for hunting. So I had to get her a gun, take the synthetic stock off and take it to a local body shop and have them put a nice coat of paint on it in her choice of color...of course.

Awesome choice...I'm thinking Remington 700 will be my next rifle, in .308....hopefully in the form of a decommissioned M24SWS ;)

Assault Weapon?!? OMG how terrifying!

(on the serious, keep it a happy distance from me, and no shooting near me, especially if it's rapid fire....bad bad juju)

Lol assault weapon. I haven't even gotten my hands on it yet, my dad bought it for me as an early birthday present. He said he got it for a steal so he couldn't pass it up. Why is it bad juju?

Apex trigger for the M&P, and it'll blow that Springfield away. I promise.

Yeah I've heard they are miracle workers. I've got some oddball stuff I wanna buy for some of my guns, (slings, light & mount, more M&P mags if I can find any) I may look into getting the Apex kit too. I've read about it before, but I don't wanna drop the pull weight a whole lot, just get rid of the grit, make it break crisper, and improve the reset a bit. I've got some research to do.

My second choice behind a glock would definitely be the M&Ps. Ill be picking one up when I'm not broke. But I just put a troy FF rail on my AR so I'm low on gun money at the moment.

If you find any STANDARD capacity mags (aka 17 rounders) for the MP9, let me know please. I'm 2 short of a combat load.

Ill keep my eyes open too.. Not sure what a good price is though.

Also, (don't make fun) but what is considered the number of mags for a combat load?

Depends on your position and training. For me, it was 5 sidearm, 7 rifle, 5-7 long range rifle depending on caliber and capacity...most people in combat zones it's 210rds primary weapon....luckily I didn't have that issue...

Anyone have any input on the going rate of a full size M&P 9? I think about $450-$500 new but I'm not sure. Asking because I found one for $400 shipped to my FFL with 10-8 performance sights and a trigger job. Only downfall is it only comes with one mag. Deal or no deal?

That sounds like a good deal if its in good shape. Around here they're going for about $480 now with the plastic case and two mags. Good luck finding spare mags. And if you do be prepared to pay 40-50 a piece, they've been that expensive as long as I can remember.

I may have to snag it. Was planning on a glock 17 or 1911, but this is cheaper and I suppose if I don't like it I can trade it for one of those.

^ make sure there are no loose parts and everything is snug on that sr9c. I've heard stories. Other than that they seem like a decent pistol.

Woohoo! Time to happy dance! I just found out that the guy who bought my ultramatch'd out SR-25 is willing to sell it back to me for what he paid minus the value of the (very effin expensive) scope which he broke....
