Glad I could entertain you all, you may not like my next mod. It's uh, actually kind of a "I like to mess around" type of mod, I'll get pictures tomorrow for you guys n gals. It's a 1 of a kind type of thing.

I dunno why I picked the colors. I was going to end up painting a pumpkin on my pumpkin but it's going to be different now. May end up repainting the whole thing over again.

Okay so, today was a busy day. First I got the axle in for the final time, second I'll be picking up a detroit locker for the rear tomorrow for a really good price. I'll put that in when I go to do the 150-200 mile oil change. Need to also route my breather hose and brakes a little better. They're kind of in a mess luckily I don't have to bleed the brakes since I didn't unbolt them! Yay for one less step!

haha nice! also does that rear axle have full floating axle shafts? I ask because since you painted the hub I noticed the bolts that hold in place like on a semi.

It is in deed a Full float axle. It's full name is the GM Corporate 14 bolt. This version is a 73 which is one of the prime years of 73-89, which can all swap every part, after 89 they started to play "let's change things around." I'm hoping I don't break this axle, if I do I have some problems with the skinny pedal. But I also still have a 44 front for now that I'm hoping to get rid of for a dana 60. Things arn't looking so good and I may have to break down and buy rcv shafts for the front till I can afford a full 60 swap.

No pink wheels. Going to stay the chrome peeling off clad they are till I can find the time to paint them or get them bead locked.
I wouldnt try this with your chrome-ys but there is a thread somewhere on DIY bead locks on steel wheels here somewhere.

They're just regular chrome clad aluminum rims, I can weld aluminum if I need to but I got a buddy that can do a nice professional job if I get him the rings. That's anoter $500 I don't want to spend though.

So, I've been tossing around the idea of removing the top rails in prep for an exo but I kind of like them and may remake them with the exo. Not exactly sure yet, but driveshaft is being dropped off tomorrow to be made. Need to get some shock mounts for the axle since I won't be doing the /\ anymore due to having to relocate evap and such and I'm getting some withdrawals. Need to hit dirt.. I drove it 4 feet today though! Also spacers should be here by thursday for the front so I can even out the trackwidth.

Alright. So I just got done planning out my hydro assist. Should stay under $150. I can tap the Nissan box and I have all the fittings and lines. Going with a 1.5x8x.75 ram. I'm still looking into it but I may go 2x8x.75 since how heavy xterras are. Driveshaft should be in tomorrow or wednesday and spacers will be here wednesday. Trail ride friday night. Got a busy schedule.

what cheer,Iowa
More myth than anything, it is noticeable but takes a lot longer than everyone says. Course the softer the tire the worse it is & control helps(I like to do burnouts on occasion next to sports cars lol). The hardest thing to get used to is the tire barking around corners.

Also. Everything's done. I'll be out of town this weekend so I won't be breaking in the gears. But monday we'll be starting the break in process if it's nice out. Finally done, can't believe it took a month.

May be able to go. Let's just hope I won't be in the middle of a dana 60 swap. I'll also need a winch, around here I have enough friends that I can just get away with no winch. Up there I'd like to not be a burden if I break or get stuck.(I get high centered a lot somehow)
