After taking the wife out on a few off road trips she decided it was time for her very own overloading rig.
Since we have owned a few Nissan Xterras in the past she wanted her very own.
We searched for a few months and finally came across this 2009 Xterra with (at the time) 83k on the dash.
Ms kgb was very happy to park her new rig next to mine.
kgb has turned almost every wrench on her truck
1st off lifting
We knew 2" is a sweet spot for the Gen 2 Xterra and figured we would give Calmini a try for the rears
The fronts are a little more complicated. Since we were on a budget at the time we went with Bilstein adjustable shocks set at the full 2"
4Wheel parts of Nashville allowed us a Mod day to work on a few trucks and we took full advantage of it.
Now this is a way to mod  We also added some Nissan Xterra S rims
Little did we know but this was a mistake and a lesson was learned. After a few bumpy weeks of driving and a nice phone call to Chris of www.Nissteclifts.com
the problem would be solved with a custom made coil pack. New Bils set at 1" with a 1" top plate Nisstec spacer.
What a difference in ride after we were educated on the packs.
We needed coms
With a big Nissan Xterra event coming up we knew rock sliders would be needed. With a few nice sliders to choose from we picked www.whiteknuckleoffroad.com
rock sliders. John with White Knuckle is a great guy to work with and will walk you through all the options. Best part about White knuckle.. They ship in 2 weeks.
Kelly 1st trails with her own Xterra at the National Xterra Meet at Windrock Park.
After the nXm3 we learned that when you by pass the tranny cooler (Xterra SMOD issue) you need to add a transmission fan on the primary
cooler. We had a issue of over heating with the transmission. The truck went into limp mode and needed to cool down before it would run again.
So once we headed home..
We started adding some Raingler nets
We had a need for some light in the rear. This will make a nice cooking area for long late night trips.
At www.wentwindrock.com we met Corey Sain of www.insainfab.com He brought us a rear bumper / Tire carrier.
