I just got a phone call that made my day. My plans for having to be away this weekend just got changed to next month. You have no idea how happy I am right now. The current forecast looks like the weather will be nice and the trails will have plenty of time to dry out from today's rain.

So I guess we should decide on a time to meet..and a place to meet. I don't mind taking the back way and meeting up at WalMart. I'm in the Central Time Zone, though, so I'll lose an hour on the way down.

Since some of us aren't as behind the times as others (as in it's EST here) let's be sure to specify the time zone the meeting times refer to.

Just try not to schedule Wooly's for July 12-15 please. That's when my trip for this month got moved to. I can't handle the stress of thinking I'm going to miss a good ride two months in a row.

Sooo I got the clutch installed on Saturday. I finally finished it up at about 5pm then I found out that my clutch master cylinder was leaking...yay!
Me and my buddy came back to my place and loaded my 84 Trans AM on his trailer and took it back to work.. I then pulled the X out of the shop and left it running with the lights on and aimed at the trailer while we loaded out other buddy's 67 mustang. I then left and drive about 6 miles on the highway when I got to my wife's subway and pressed the clutch peddle to show down, the engine died, the temp gauge pegged, and it started steaming like crazy... I was very upset...
I let it sit for about 2 hours while I helped my wife close the Subway then came out and added coolant. I got about half way through pouring in the second gallon and just started hearing it pouring back out on the ground... my first thought was oh crap I've busted a head or the block and ruined my motor... but I started looking around with my flashlight and found that I had actually broken the plastic inlet line of the heater core. I left the X at Subway over the weekend and had it towed back to work on Mon. I bypassed the heater core, installed a new clutch master, and changed the oil with full synthetic and synthetic Lucas oil stabilizer. The X seems be doing fine and I think I may have gotten lucky and not done any damage to the motor.

Anyway... I do have to work on Sat but I'm gonna try to leave about 1 or 1:30, so I should be able to meet y'all at PC around 2 to 2:30... I probably won't camp, but I'll be back up there on Sunday, and might bring a few friends from work with their 4 Wheelers.

Also I did go up to PC with my buddy in his new Jeep this past Friday, and the gate at Haley Rd was open, we drove down crossed the creek, then turned around and drive back out. it wasn't bad at all, and I was hopping the rain would hold off...

Sounds like you had an exciting weekend.

I will probably leave out a little early on Sunday because my daughter has a thing at church.

So, I am bringing the grill for camping, Nismo has a "secret recipe", I suppose everyone is bringing their own food, but is there anything else that needs discussing? Also, bring BEER.

I hope that it isn't too muddy else my poor little 2WD will probably be pulled most of the way.

If the current forecast holds the trails will be fine. Also keep in mind we're meeting at Wal Mart so if anyone thinks of some last minute things needed it shouldn't be a problem. Even then Wal Mart is only about a fifteen drive from the campsite.

Chuck, I'll send you a message Saturday morning once we choose a CB channel.

Speaking of CB's, anyone know how to tune these things? Mine is all out of whack.

K. Rice

I know how to tune the antenna but I don't have an SWR meter anymore.

Also I have a couple hand held 2 way radios. Jon I can drop those off with you and maybe they'll work for a couple of the guys with no CB...

That would be great. Handhelds are nice anyway, especially when you need to spot for someone. I'll have my camera with me and will try to get some good action shots of everyone so directing them safely to a good photo spot may come in handy.

Yep. No fees at this park.

From their website:

Camping is permitted at two designated campsites: Davis Pond and Hunter's Check Station.* Campsites are primitive with pit toilets and campfire rings only.* Camping is first come, first serve.
Those camping at Davis Pond must be in the campsite by dark.* Backpackers may use the campsites along the trails.
