Tell me about it. I even know all the trails there. I mean, in is right here where I live and all. If you guys want to take dirt all the way off the mountain then take about a mile of pavement to Ketner's Mill like we did in January let me know and I'll tell you how to do it if no one going knows. It's very simple to do without getting lost.

We'll be in touch. Hoping Chuck might see it and get his clutch in before then.

Anybody willing to kick in on gas for Roadwarrior? I can contribute. Also, I doubt my tires will be good enough, but hey it will be fun.

I just got off the phone with Chuck. If nothing goes wrong his clutch will be done before then. Those of you with tire concerns, Yodamonster takes his 09. Frontier with the original Michelins through Prentice Cooper.

For future reference, if anyone ever wants to hit Prentice Cooper or Big Fork and would like a trail guid just let me know a couple of days ahead of time. I've been riding those trails since before I was old enough to drive. I learned how to drive in my brother's Baja there at 12 years old.

Will do, this will be my first wheeling trip. Did a little bit of wheeling in my Dad's CJ5 when I was much younger, but not much to speak of. I just can't wait.

with how busy w always are, I'm not sure if we have a concert planned that weekend or not just yet... I'll have to consult me planner (wife) to see if I have plans this weekend or not... If there is not a concert that we are going to I'm totally down to take lead for you guys. I've only been up there twice with Jon, but I have a pretty good memory, and I promise not to get you guys lost.

Updated the OP list.

Anyone besides Chuck have a winch?

Rice, are you 2wd or 4wd?

Everyone have recovery gear, or at the very least, recovery points? Not expecting to need them, but..never know.

I have plenty of straps and shackles. I can leave them with Chuck before I head out of town if needed. Honestly though a stock 2wd on street tires would be the only thing that might need any help, and probably not even then unless it's wet. Of course recovery gear is ALWAYS a good idea.

PS. Every time I've gone there only a small group of locals have shown up. All you others...you BETTER come back when I can go!

Here's a map in case anyone wants to have a look.

It's also available as a PDF here http://www.tn.gov/agriculture/publications/forestry/PCSF_map.pdf

Be aware that some trails are closed (one of my favorites) for turkey nesting, and the shooting range is currently closed for remodeling. It's scheduled to reopen in July but they're a bit behind because there's been so much rain. There's a small building on the left at the entrance that has a big map posted on the wall. For those who are camping, you will need to be at your campsite by dark. The rest of the park is open from daylight to dark. Cell phone reception only works in a few places so it's best to stay together. Haley Road is the one that goes all the way off the mountain. There is a sign that says 4x4 only and warns of a $130.00 fine. They don't inspect vehicles and only enforce the fine if the park rangers have to come rescue you so don't worry about that. The speed limit throughout the park is 25 MPH and is enforced. The rangers there are really nice guys.

There's a camping area on the right near the entrance. It's pretty well marked. I think you need to check with the rangers to camp anywhere else.

Okay. Obviously we won't be there right at sun up, but I would definitely like to stake my claim before we wheel...at least get the tent thrown up. That's the last thing I want to do at Oh Dark Thirty.
