I've learned 3 things on this trip.

1) The cruise control of a 2013 Subaru Outback is limited to 90MPH.

2) The absolute top speed of said Outback is 110MPH. I suspect electronically limited because there were more revs, but the needle wouldn't move.

3) The transmission of said Outback does not like 110MPH and promptly threw a temperature light.

That's not what you want

DOH! Sounds like it's happening sooner than you thought.

Tiles pushing past.. Yikes.. mean leak and much replacement of new studs, and concrete tile boards.

Or with luck, poor Repair from the fellow that found 10 pounds of Gold nuggets. Stashed behind the tiles, for safe keeping. ;-)
Looks like it leaked through a couple grout lines. So going to do a new tub, surround, toilet and flooring. Have tuck tape over the offending area for the time being.

Made it home. Was a long day. I70 was closed at Vail Pass due to snow. Had to take a 60 mile detour once we were able to get back to the interstate it was still very slow and snowy to the Eisenhower tunnel.

5 and a half hour drive turned into 7 hours.

Oh. And right when we got back into I70 there was a 5 car accident. Three were tangled and mangled, one was in the shoulder, and the 5th was a 4Runner ¼ mile off the interstate in the trees. Still on its wheels, but definitely in the trees.

I almost slid the Outback into the back of the fire truck at 5MPH because banked turn and zero traction. There was a fire fighter standing right there and when we started to slide he grabbed his radio about to tell people. But I managed to get enough traction to go past. He looked relieved. I definitely was.

The gas station we stopped at so the kids could pee was at the Copper Mountain exit. Exactly where the interstate opened eastbound. They were on emergency power and about to close. I wonder if CDOT moved the closure further down the mountain because of conditions.

Legion was both ahead and behind its appropriate release time. Ahead because we now have Loki, Moon Knight, etc that have explored the concept of super hero level schizophrenia, variants, alternates, etc. Behind because those other stories are so good that it makes you go back and re-evaluate this story despite this story being told wonderfully.

Currently in Washington state visiting the wife's family (who are pretty much all really cool).

Friday we went to northwest trek, which was pretty neat.

Yesterday we took my daughter to Snoqualmie falls, and did the hike all the way to the bottom.

Today were doing a big BBQ with the family.

I can't wait to get home tomorrow and sleep in my own bed. The guest bed here is hard as a rock.

Also, my buddy is coming over Thursday to help me get the RTT up on top of the X. Gonna test it out next weekend while I'm filming for an offroad event.

One of the few states I've never been to.
