Stuck bolt saga continues. Went and bought Speed Out Pro - caught a couple times but it's like the core metal is softer than the outer metal because it just strips it right back out.

I've now resorted to using a pipette to put PB Blaster on the tip of the bolt in the threads directly, and I'll give that a couple hours to hopefully soak down then give Speed Out another shot.

For striped allen head bolts, the best way i have found to remove them is to hammer in a torx head socket that is a bit to big. Works over 95% of the time for me.

If you can try heating the bolt to loosen the loctite

Cinnamon rolls looking amazing...

I hope teaching her to cook eventually nets me tasty treats WITHOUT this much intervention.

Update. Got a half a turn on one of them and then the head broke off. No prob I thought - now I'll switch to the smaller extractor, which did indeed grab then promptly broke and then the momentum carried it straight to my thumb.

So now I'm actually done. Each bolt now has an extractor bit embedded in it, which I can't drill.

I couldn't do the hammer and torx bit, because it would be hammering on just the fin and I can't support the backside of it. Similarly, I don't want to apply heat because it's the actual light housing.

This has all made me realize how vulnerable the light is by having threads in the actual housing, vs some other lights where a bolt simply goes through a hole and squeezes. I honestly don't even want them anymore. If Baja will just take them back and refund me, I'm going that route vs a warranty replacement. Same with the other two I did manage to install.

For future reference, never use a drill with an extractor. Unless you have ultra high quality ones, they'll break every time.

What about holding a soldering iron directly on the mounting bolt and getting it hot that way, then a good pair of vice grip's on the bolt ? you could take the len's and glass outta the light then hold it face down while extracting ? I took apart one of the ridge light's I have because a wire had pulled out of the clip inside , really wasn't much to it . Unless it void's your warranty .

The one said not to use the drill. The Speed Out said to, and I made sure it was slow, steady pressure on the lowest setting. One attempt I used the drill to get the bit to grab and then a ¼" wrench to twist, but without the downward pressure it just popped right back out.

The only other thing I can think of is using the dremel to cut more of the bolt off so I'm past the extractor bit pieces again, or doing the same to cut two flat edges to put a wrench on it. But I think I need to just give up for the sake of my sanity.
