Yep. Should have worn the welding helmet. Had eyes and ears on. But it wasn't enough.
Dang. those stitches blend in with your whiskers.. ;-) Your lips protected yea from getting Early Dentures..

I fear those things, and always keep Protective shield on grinder, while wearing leather gloves and full face shield. Seen too many grinding wheels Meet flesh.. Me learn from others!

I had welding gloves on too. Haha. Which are now horribly stained with blood from me grabbing my mouth immediately after it happened.

Interestingly I got a call from my brother in law. He wanted to ask if it was a Harbor Freight cutting wheel. Which it was. He told me that they're banned from using those at his job because they explode so easily.

Took the Camaro to the drag strip last night. Average around 10.80s at 64mph. Not bad for a sticker stock LO3 car.

Headed to Big Levels for a trail ride / truck rescue. Full size Chevy busted on the fun line up the mountain. Gonna meet the kid at the trail head and give him a ride up and assist with the repair. Hopefully a good day.

My exploding one was also Harbor Freight. Guess I’ll change them out more often and when I’m low switch to another brand.

Bossman asks if I want to work another Saturday. Don’t worry, he says… this will be easy. You’re just there to train one of the new guys on a bigger generator load test.

Me: cables. All the cables.

But hey, it’s a ton of overtime in addition to all the other overtime I made this week. So that’s good. Overtime is good.

What happened to the chevy?
Dude ran Big Levels solo. Busted an inner TRE and walked out. Next day he drove the 2hr back, walked in to fix it but had the wrong parts (chevy used two steering systems those years ugh) and then walked back out.

Put up a sign the spur was blocked, posted online to let folks know he would be back the 13th to try again to get it. Folks started giving him down the road about it. He's a firefighter and had to call in some favors to get the day off. He and his girl were gonna walk in today to try again.

Since Sean and I had planned on running the trail with another group today anyways, we headed up early and met them. We gave them a ride in, helped them fix it, and helped them get it off the trail. They were nice folks. That was his first time offroading and it could have ended a lot worse. But I think he really learned some good lessons from this whole thing. First and foremost, never go alone!
