Range is decent enough for indoor use, but placement is important. We’re in a three story townhouse but a “longer” one front to back and placing the main one in the middle would’ve been fine for WiFi inside.

We needed three only because we wanted desktop computers upstairs that don’t have WiFi and we have the cameras outside on the other side of brick-front thick exteriors. The older/original WiFi points have two Ethernet ports, so you can plug two computers in to get connection. In my case, my desktop is just really old and my work laptop has WiFi disabled.

We have the main hub towards the back of the house on the main floor, the second hub in the ‘office’ bedroom on the top floor but positioned right by the window for clearer signal to the cameras, then we stuck one on the main floor on a shelf by the stairs right at the middle to act as a bridge. That was only necessary because the two were so far away and the one was on the opposite side of a computer, monitor, printer, and other interference.

The fourth one with the speaker in it we only got as a gift from somebody I helped install theirs and they didn’t need it. It was a smaller house and they bought a 3-pack from Costco because it was on sale. I use the smart speakers quite a bit and have them everywhere (love multiroom music especially), but I wouldn’t pay extra to have it integrated. You can get the generic smart speaker puck frequently for $10 or less on sale or even free. Plus, the one with the speaker built in does not have the outgoing Ethernet ports in it.
So you think just getting another airties and then buy the regular speakers instead?

Well attempt number 2 at tiling the entrance to the house. View attachment 18631

Hopefully this time the thin set mortar dries
I'd recommend an extra day over what they say for curing and then getting the grout in there right away to help stabilize it side to side. I've even taken a Dremel and scoured the tile bottom to give the thin-set extra place's to grip on .

No....

Maybe it's because I'm old, or because I've been happily married for a long time and have a bunch of daughters, but I DON'T need the drama of a bar in my life. Like at all.

What I need is an air conditioned garage with a lift.
Well, Yeah! When you put it like that, of course I'd rather not have drama and have those other heavenly things but.. scenery is good too, even when I was happily married. Maybe it's the daughters, I had boys.

I'll help build the BAR in your air-conditioned garage . We'll put it on wheel's; then we could make a bench seat that fit's on one side of the lift to save on space !!! Why am I thinking out loud again ??

I’m not familiar with that particular one (price/range/features) but if it works the same yeah definitely just get a Nest Mini (or hub or other one) separately.

So, I like bars. Well, really I like dark quiet taverns or dive bars. I dont like "clubs" or those loud "meat market" type bars and I hate HATE loud drunks.

But sliding into a dark, quiet pub, sitting at that long smooth wooden bar, ordering a whiskey and a burger, plus probably another whiskey, while quietly alone with my thoughts is a great great thing.

Plus the scenery. Sometimes the scenery comes home with you. Or you go to scenery's home, so scenery cant latch on to you and never leave.

If I had to choose however, a large, well lit shop with AC, a lift and a ton of room would probably win.

My favorite bar pic from my phone. It was a crap hole in Austin called "Valhalla" dead silent. Wonderful chzburgers, music that didnt suck. If I die, and heaven has a bar, its Valhalla. 7.jpg

Ok. I'll give you the tavern thing. Low to no music, good bar keep, at least reasonable quality food. I'll go.

But come hang out at my shop, we'll wrench, I'll cook something, probably some mild wheeling on the mountain above my house. That's where I WANT to be.

The best laid plans.

I'm at the ER. Cutting disc in the angle grinder blew apart and busted my lower lip up. Bleeding like crazy. Need stitches. Hooray Friday!
I've been putting off a full face guard for year's and just using safety glasses' when using a grinder, but I think you just sent me a calling card !! Hopefully a couple stitches' and a fat lip for a few day's is all the damage:eek: Glad it didn't turn out worse...........

Granpa Klem ka-diddle-hopper use to say keep your lip's away from the grinder when your sharpening your tooth !! ;)

Man, sorry to hear that. Not a fun thing to happen. Heal up quick.

Yep. Should have worn the welding helmet. Had eyes and ears on. But it wasn't enough.

Hot smoked some turkey breasts today. Mesquite wood and seasoned with black pepper. Trying to cut down on the processed meats in my salad.

They came out really tasty. First time using my Slow-N-Sear attachment for the weber so it ran hot and they cooked fast. But still plenty of flavor!

You know, I had a close call with one blowing up, and I still haven't been wearing a face shield. I should. I think we're using it to cut out a LCA in the near future too.

I hit my out of pocket max this year already. This shiat is freeeeeeee. Hahaha
Well I had my stents the end of November and my rehab went past the first of the year, so I met my max out of pocket and had free drugs and rehab until Jan 1st when I had to pay another $2,500 for cardio rehab.
