I enjoy it as well. Though I'd probably enjoy it more if I had a better place to do it.

My driveway is gravel, sloped, with no shade, and it's gonna be 100+ this week.

That part doesn't sound fun to me.
I agree with this. I wish i had a big, nice, well lit air conditioned shop. I would be a better mechanic.

Or i tell myself that

I dunno LOL! I am a field tech, and I enjoy working outside in the heat, cold, dirt, etc better than the nice big shop with all its overhead cranes, AC, and convenient tooling. Working outside in crap conditions shouldn’t scare anyone. It’s how you learn and grow. Or at least that’s what I tell myself LOL!

shiat. As a younger man, Id get right down in the dirt and gravel, pop the motor out of my VW bug (four bolts, wires) do what i need, stuff that bitch back in. The older i get, the less I like working like that. My "shop" now is a modified RV storage, but it works, for the level mechanic skills i have. Haha

What i wouldnt give for one of those fancy shops with a lift.

*sigh*

Maybe some day.

My garage corner was starting to drive me nuts. I keep the work bench clean… well for the most part. My toolbox is reasonably organized. At least I can find stuff. But this shelf… sigh. I’m going to get rid of it and get a cabinet to put there instead. And if it doesn’t fit inside, it goes to the dump or gets donated.

Should have invested in air. I could have run hoses anywhere in my house pretty easy from the garage.

But battery power is so nice.
Funny you mention that. My birthday is on Tuesday, and my dad got me an air compressor. No ideas what I'm gonna do with it yet. Lol.
I hear ya! I think I still have some XJ parts hanging around from 8 years ago....
I think I still have a fan shroud from my 96 blazer sitting in my shed. I also have a cylinder head, and cv joints for a first Gen Colorado here.

Dude. Intelligent zombies. It's a leap all around. And Resident Evil set the stage for zombie animals like 25 years ago. So I'm fine with that.
I know this may be blasphemes but I'm pretty burned out on the whole zombie genre at this point. I will watch the new season of TWD but really Im watching to see the end not because of caring what comes next. Some off shoots of the zombie horror that I do still like are Warm Bodies and Netflix Day break

I stopped watching TWD because of this. It was single handedly ruining my enjoyment of the genre. I don't watch zombie content to see human stories of survival and watch a sheriff yell at his kid.

This. This right here is why TWD ruined it.

I watch zombie content to see humans get ripped apart by zombies. hahahaha But I'm with you. After I stopped watching TWD I was really burned out on it. But now that it's been a few years, I feel like I can enjoy it again. And I did.

Especially since I really liked the Snyder remake of Dawn of the Dead. That added to the increased hype for this one.

Talked to my usual mechanic today. I told him what the alignment shop said, and what they quoted me. He did some digging, and priced out likely higher quality parts (without knowing what the other shop would put in).

Came back with roughly the same number. However, he made a good point. Without looking at it, there's no way of knowing what it really needs, so I'm gonna take it in for a full shakedown on the front end.

As far as replacing parts, we'll have to see what it needs. The wife and I are starting to think that if I'm going to keep off-roading the X, it's going to be worth the investment of having a good place to work on it.

Probably time to think about paving the driveway and building a carport..

Ordered more Titan parts today. ufck. At some point I'll have them all. Only like 5 parts left that I need.

In terms of ordering OE parts. It definitely pays to shop around. I found a dealership in IL that priced what I needed about 20% less than NPD had it for. I called around to find out what the deal is. Apparently dealers can opt to sell parts below cost and Nissan reimburses them to make up the difference. None of the dealers around here would match the price. So I ordered from the place in IL.

I got a call about 20 minutes after I placed the order. Guy wanted a VIN so he could verify fitment. I just kind of laughed. Told him that I was bolting Titan parts to an Xterra. The P/Ns are right. Ship me what I ordered please.

When you're salary and work from home, all time is company time.
And I don't mean that I'm always on the clock. I mean exactly the opposite of that. I get my work done but I'm still getting paid for going to the bathroom. or the store. or to the park w/ my kids.

Right? The 1st - 3rd seasons we're really good. After that it just felt like it should have stopped but didn't and they kept having to force it to keep going. Like I said. Ruined the genre for me.

Right? My local dealership drools over my truck when I come in, but they won't budge off of msrp on parts. GFY.

The two local dealers I called told me that they cannot do anything on price for in person orders. That online only is where the deal exists. But. They were unwilling to match the online price of a competing dealership. So. Yeah. GFY.
