Is that a polymer lower?
Might I suggest either FN or Walther over the S&W
Looks like a Seekins precision billet lower to me.
Sure. I'll have to look into them though. I was choosing the S&W mostly because of the price tag. A lot of these guns are $500+ and that one is like $350. I don't have much money lol.
I just want something I can conceal carry for protection. I live in an area with a very high crime rate. Coming from an rural area previously, that, combined with the traffic, bothers me greatly.
I definitely like a hammer and de-cocker.
Baby eagle isn't worth it.
If you're aiming to stay cheap, at least step up to an XD.
I learned one very important fact: never get a "cheap" gun because it's all you can afford, for your own protection, wait a little longer till you can afford the better gun, because when the cheap one breaks, you're out more $$ and you're without the gun while you send it for repairs...

Everything I've seen and heard (including my local gun dealer) as been that XD/XDm/XDs and glock are top tier of "affordable" guns that will hang with the h&k's, walthers, and other "upper echelon" gun brands...for him, the XD/XDm/XDs are his first choice, and they certainly don't have to be. What I've heard about the S&W pistols is that they try to be a "cheap glock" except they fail to stand up as well. Not as tight QA/QC, looser tolerances, etc. Bad gun 1:100 instead of 1:10,000 sort of thing.
That said, I think nismo has one and likes hers, I can just say I don't like the feel, and the one I shot just didn't scream "buy me" in angelic chorus style from the heavens. I picked up an XD and said "very nice, I like it".
Also, If you're finding an m&p 9/40/45 for 350, buy it now, their MSRP is HIGHER than that of the XD, and I just paid $550 for my 5" XD40, which has an msrp of 625 I think?
I traded my XD for my M&P and couldn't be happier. I didn't hate the XD, but for my paw, the M&P had better ergonomics.
.357 Sig is a fun round to shoot, but I wouldn't use it as a defensive round. I like my .40 S&W though.
Believe it or not, Tennessee Highway Patrol issues .357sig Glocks. They're the only department I know that uses that round. Everyone else uses either 9mm or .40
That's actually kind of scary. And the reason that I refuse to carry it. If I have to shoot someone I want that round to stay where it lands.
Get a 45... absolutely will stop what it hits or tear it up trying.

I guess it depends on the person. The cops I talk to here would rather not have a 9mm but a 40 or 45. They say the 9 tends to go thru without stopping (the bad guy). The larger projectile tends to knock down with less rounds used. I myself don't actually know, I prefer not to shoot people unless they try to eat my cheese cake.
