He has been asked to do some 2nd Gens from the area too. What he does is buy the basic bumper pieces from bucksnort, weld it together and then fabbed up the tired carrier. I'll ask him if he is interested in looking at a 1st Gen; it's just difficult to say right now because he is in school in Michigan and only visits on the weekends.

Bucksnort??? A supplier? if so where I can always look at another one.

bucksnort is a NewX member up in Madison, WI. He orders materials and gets a shop to weld some bumpers together and he ships them out to member- kinda like the middle man.

The problem that I'm facing w/ all these great looking bumpers is that no one makes them for GEN1's anymore. OR as in this case he no longer makes them at all. Family comes first... I'll be the first one to stand behind a man that does that over anything. BUT DANG PEOPLE...can you make just 1 more for old times sake PLEEEEEEEEASE !!!!

CoXterra, I contacted CC and was quoted a grand.
As I said , business is business and money is money.

Sorry man. I'm fairly local to him, so shipping wasn't an issue for me. Mine was also the first one he built and had to drive down there a few times. I had mine done in pieces. First the actual bumper and then later the tire carrier. The Skid Row on AC's site with just the bumper really isn't that bad of a deal either. You can always get that and have someone custom fab the tire carrier for you.

Thanks for the info...but he only makes these for GEN2's.

Yeah i figured he only does 2nd Gens. Are you going to the Meet-N-Greet in February? You can meet up with my boyfriend then (ChettaCheez on thenewx) and possibly convince him to look into it for this summer when he is back in town from school.

Hey oz_x i'm in Cali too. if Maxterra happens to start building rear bumpers i'd be interested in it. just w/o the tire carrier not to big on those. other than that it looks awesome. if he's in cali i'm down to take a toad trip and drive to get it.

You should tell him he needs to be on XN or you just won't be able to continue a seperated relationship like this anymore.

I want! I've searched for a rear bumper for a long time, and that may be one of the nicest I've ever seen. It looks like a true work of art...

Thanks for the mention, Oz.

I'm back and building quite a few rear bumpers again for the 2nd gens. Had to quit doing them last year due to working 60 to 80 hrs/wk most of the year. Now back to pretty much 40 again, so time available.
Hope to have a front bumper out this summer after I get a new "project" out and tested first.

Here's the latest revision of my standard rear unit:

Light as possible, but strong. LED license plate light included. For std & 2" Body lift mounting.

On the full units, they now have a different license plate bracket, but I can't find a pic of it right now.

If you have any questions or want the spec/price sheet, email me at maximumdesign@comcast.net

Thanks for looking!

^^^. Not having the hitch sticking out and hitting you in the leg while accessing the rear cargo area, and better departure angle is the typical requested model on the tire carrier unit. Doing so negates use of the stock spare tire location, though.

On the standard bumper, the hitch had to protrude out so you can keep the spare tire underneath. I've also added more room on the back of the bumper for larger spare tire size underneath.

Forgot to mention on the full bumpers, I've added the option of a set of 2.5" LED backup lights flush in the bumper face.
Will have some pics of those as soon as I get a couple bumpers back from the coater.

The driver side might stick out a bit more due to the hatch hump, I'll look but I think we're getting off topic here. We'll put a pin in this
