Haha, maybe an education in research. I remember this happening way back when and not paying much attention.

Just went and got lost looking at YT vids. I couldn't decide if I wanted to watch the 3min version or the 3hr version or the other thousands of other videos claiming, "real story", "true story", "a man pushed to the edge", "a madman in a dozer", etc..

My parents offered to give us their minivan( christler town and country).I told my wife I'm not ufcking driving the thing. I would rather get a truck or buy a different 1st gen and swap everything over or just fix the problems with my xterra.

We had a T&C, worst vehicle ever. Not totally sure what was wrong with it, but the ignition would cut out, side door wouldn't close properly, locks wouldn't engage. Just horrible impulse purchase

Agree, my parents have been dumping money into their to fix everything that goes wrong with it. I don't need a van we have a 2013 pathfinder and when I go somewhere it's usually just me and the boy the other two kids don't want to be seen with their parents. I would have many more uses for a truck or almost any other vehicle than a minivan.

Mom and Dad gave us a S10 Blazer that was really rusty because we needed a vehicle and Dad was tired of working on it. I put $4-500 into that thing FAST and then decided to sell it and get the Xterra so at least I'd be working on something liked.

My MIL has had a few of these old Chrysler vans. I'm not a fan. Now an AWD Astro van? I'd consider that pretty hard.

My parents had an AWD astro then got rid of it and got the Chrysler. I think it was a down grade going from the astro to the Chrysler it was old but in good shape.

Hard to beat! Share lots of parts with S10s and 1/2 ton pickups. Easy to get parts for. AWD!! The 4.3L (especially the TBI version) was one of the most dependable engines GM built. Just so many positives. I believe there's also a manual in print still that talks you through V8 swapping one! Corvette LT4 in an Astro van. That'd be fun. Kinda wish I would have done that instead of the V8 S10. Probably still have it since it would haul @$$ as well as haul 3 kids and a dog....

i low key watch for AWD Astros to pop up. I think i would like one.

If I didn't enjoy the occasional rock garden I think I'd build one. Small lift and 31's would do most everything else I do with ease. Nice family camping rig. Small and maneuverable. You can swap the AWD t-case for a S-10 case and get 4WD and low range. It'd be a sweet setup!

It was an interesting day at the ski hill on Saturday. The lifts main engine died, then the backup engine died. So we ended up having to do a manual evacuation of the lift. It went good. Then sunday it was repaired and the conditions were great.
