Linky worky just fine here.

I like the looks of it! I'd like to see everything in person though, to check out the quality. It makes me want to hack up my 5'x8' utility trailer and build my own, haha.

Quality would be the concern. Also after using it for other stuff how well would it hold up to be nice for the Tent portion. I like the idea because how often do people use a tent/camper and a trailer. At least it would get some use with duel functions.

Linky issue likely because I'm on my iPad. Just search trailer tent on costco. Or lifetime trailer tent on google. Or, the pics church posted...

My problem would be this vs a regular used pop up trailer price wise.

I was thinking the same thing. You can get a decent pop-up for about that.

I know a guy from a Toyota forum that has one and he likes it but he says that it's a pain to set up and it isn't super stable as a tent platform.

Not related but I have a 6' x 12' tandem axle trailer with 24" solid sides. You are welcome to use it if you ever need to haul something.

I looked into it a few months ago and thought it would be cool but talked myself out of it.

They sell this same one at cabelas, they had it set up a few months ago, its ok, but the jumping jack one is much better quality, and you get more but yes it costs more like the table and bed pads. but you can also 2 four wheelers on the jumping jack. Now that ive seen both in person id go with the jumping jack just based upon ease to set up alone.

Things to consider.
wheels matched to rig for redundancy?
suspension able to handle the same activities as the rig? i.e. clearance...rocks...same wheel to wheel width of rig for tracking
water resistant or water proof (think river crossing)
electrical system using LED lights for vibration resistance(shorting)
Tent has nice thick cushion for sleeping on
able to shed water
many vents and windows to air out on hot nights
secondary room zips to bottom of primary tent?

lots of things to consider before plunking money down .

Not to speak for anyone, but I was thinking NM was looking at a trailer to go camping with and also use to pick up supplies. Not one to go offroading with/expedition exploring. I agree with you completely if anyone is trying to go of the gravel or paved road with a trailer that is a great list to consider Mr. USA

I would still keep your eyes on craigs list and newspaper ads <-- Old people, you can get trailers for dirt cheap that require no to a little work. You just have to be patient.

Yeah, wasn't looking at it to wheel - if I were I would have tried to buy Casper's trailer. One thing that did occur to me, and Rok brought this up, was the stability of the platform. If I get in and lay down on one side, is the thing going to tip over? I saw the JJ trailer also - interesting, but not worth the extra 1.5k imo. I was looking on CL for utility trailers and people wants lots o coin for em, and there was a POS tent trailer for 1.5k...not going to rush out and order one just yet, but I am intrigued by the versatility. Can carry kayak, too

I think a better option would be a regular utility trailer with a separate RTT mounted to it that is removable. That way you can still have storage under the RTT for camping. The price would fluxuate a lot on this option depending on brand of RTT and also how you get the normal utility trailer.

I think that's pretty much what this is - a utility trailer with a tent that mounts on it and is removable. That's what is appealing to me - the flexibility. Rather than have a rectangle (RTT) mounted on the trailer, I'd rather have the space for kayaks, ATVs, what have you. I don't have much interest in the RTT, too much for what I do and too bulky. I like this as a compromise of sorts, to regular old tent on the ground. I would have to fab up some supports for the trailer wings though, I think.

I have looked at them over the years, and if I did not already make a trailer, that has a tent on top of it, I would get the jumping jack. I would not try to make it into an expo, or adventure trailer but would more than likely have a larger set of tires under it.
For something that is only going to see fire roads, and trips to Home Depot, the need for matching track width, and same size tires with matching wheels is kind of overkill.

The bed sides are supported when they are folded out, so stability os not a problem

Overall the jumping jack is a nicer trailer with a beefier axel and a nicer tent, so the added cost is worth it in my opinion
