I am only eating on average about 1400 calories a day and playing basketball everyday. I would say I was eating like 5000 calories before and lots of fast food. The only bad food I have had to eat was the Chinese and Mexican up at coal creek for the seXTERRA run lol

Great blame me lol.. Yeah I lost 20lbs in 2 weeks once by dropping my intake to 1000 calories.

Fast food is a killer.

Just cook your own food and don't drink pop. And remember anything more than 2 lbs a week is unhealthily

^^^^THIS^^^^

20lbs in 2 weeks or 30lbs in 3 weeks is very bad for your body. and plus you have a higher chance of rebounding back to your old weight once you crash...and you will crash.

It's a lifestyle change, that should be gradual.

Oh I agree and I did bring it back on.. I'm down 20 again but I've been working hard at the gym.. And trying to eat right.

The 20lbs before was a bet for some shoes ;). I won

Even if I don't try to diet hard the first few weeks I always drop a lot of weight. Not a whole lot I can do about it really. Then it stays steady around 3lbs a week.

As long as I stay busy in good, but of I sit to watch tv I feel like I need some junk food.

I lose weight by being at work. It's a stressful job and I often go long periods of time without eating. I drink juice when I have the chance, but mostly I just don't eat. I also lost weight because I don't drink soda anymore and RARELY eat fast food. Other than Mexican and sometimes Chinese (Dave..). I also lost a bunch of weight at school, because we have a big campus, I walk everywhere. And as the seXTERRA crew knows.. I don't drink beer. I lost the freshman 15 instead of gaining it.

I actually gained about 40 lbs my freshman year of college. Mostly from working out and eating ~4000 calories a day. But it we extremely regimented and. After the season ended my senior year I dropped back down to what I am now.

That being said it is all about forming a habit which takes the human brain about 7 weeks to form. You have to keep at it and not think of it as a diet or wieght lifting program but a new way of life to see consistent healthy change

So in high school I was doing weights twice a day and I was 5'8" and 200 lbs benching 205 lbs squatting 315lbs those were/are my benchmarks now after not lifting for almost 3 years I'm thinking about starting back up to get rid of some flab. Currently I am 5'9" 158lbs I can max 165 bench and 175 squat. I did slim down my fat content but I lost so much muscle. Now I am gaining fat with not a lot of muscle to burn it up.I'm looking forward to posting in here.

Awesome! If you need help or suggestions for workouts let me know. I've got quite a few. My brother is a CSCS, and I've got hookups with tons of other people for info. If you are interested in high quality supplements let me know, they definitely help.

Does like an hour to an hour and a half of raquette ball count as good cardio

Your body is made in the kitchen, remember that. Lifting and working out obviously helps, but you'll get no where without the proper diet.

agreed nielsen. you'd be surprised on how much you learn about your body after you start learning what you can eat and can't eat. blown idk if you read mens health but they have a lot of good semi low calorie meals that will keep your appetite in check with a proper balance of carb / proteins etc. You can also check out a diet called "the zone" its made for people to get them selves in check and has a lot to eat for it.

you'd be surprised on how cheap healthy food actually is. read up on the zone. 1 block i eat for lunch is a tuna sandwhich 1 can of tuna 1 piece of bread tsp of mayo and mustard... thats like a 1.55 lunch.

Again AZ is right on the money, eating healthy like he is talking about isn't as expensive as you would think. I think you thought the same thing I did when I first started looking into eating healthy. I was worried about having to buy all sorts of crazy stuff, but it really just turns into stuff like cans of tuna, or cooking your own chicken.

yep^ i buy 40lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast every month from my restaurant vendor and its 42bucks. cans of tuna are around 72cents and salad and other fish are fairly cheap also. same with brown rice and jasmine rice. buy big packages save money.

another good meal, ground turkey and eggs whites. 1lb of ground turkey is 5.99, eggs are like $2 for 18 here. i split it in 1/6ths. so its like, $1.33 for a meal that is 1/6lb turkey and 3 egg whites.

Bake at 375 for 15 min. Grilling is a good option too. If you don't have a grill, a George Forman will work.

I either bake or grill them on the Foreman. Wrap it up in a tortilla with a side of rice. Love to throw in yellow peppers.

Speaking of yellow peppers, they make an amazing snack + ranch.
