Mine took about half a day or so because they had a tight area to work in and they had 20 years of code to upgrade
Yeah this is a tight space but they went the route if it doesn't make it fit. They guy measured the old tank at least 4 times and still got one to big. They smashed in part of the air return for the furnace and I just checked and the water heater is still not sitting level. They had to run some new water lines and they rerouted the gas line. Right now I'm soaking up water with in the bathroom right next to it and I have to find a way to get the carpet dry. This is the shiat you get when you don't do stuff yourself but my wife always wants to pay people to do stuff instead of me doing it.

The county i live in doesn't really have codes for anything except structural.

The longest I've ever taken to do a water heater was 3 hours. And an hour of that was waiting for a helper to show up. It was in an attic with pull down stairs. I got the new one up, but needed help getting the old one down.

I don't think they knew what they were doing. I was just looking they got the drywall wet and it is bubbled up so I will probably have to cut that out and fix it. My wife was the one that found the guy and he was the cheapest person she talked too.

Morning gentlemen
Back atcha !! Question.......When your heat kicked on last night dose it seem a little noisier ? Mine did in another house when I framed up a wall in the basement and beat in 1 of 2 return's to about half it's size thus losing around 25% of the return's function. You might want to put a Co2 and Gas detector in that room just in case Moe & Larry didn't tape the gas or messed the exhaust up ; just to keep the family safe !

The cap can be removed....
Got a friend who put a bolt on each corner behind the cab then used vice-grip style of clamp's 2-3 per side. Didn't move in the 10 or so year's he owned the truck and took him maybe 4/5 minute's to get off which he did often between carrying stuff or going camping. How about a nice Ladder bar type system that you can take the back crossbar out for thing's to be losded and stand upright but still carry canoe/kayak's and other thing's ?

Morning folks.

Raining here this morning. Not sure what I'll get into today. I hate to go to the transfer station today but we kinda need to haul off some trash.

Might start with making a mess of biscuits though...

Morning. Sitting on the front porch drinking coffee. The wife wants me to put some cement stepping stones down today as well as build some raised flower beds on the front of this new porch. Looks like she will be keeping me busy this weekend
