Back in my food service days, they told us to use water "as hot as you can stand" for hand washing. Might need to spend some time researching the science of hand washing and how soap functions at different temperatures.

North Americans tend to overwash. We use far too much soap. We end up with dry, unhealthy skin and hair. Then we go looking for stuff to fix those problems. At least it generates the kind of employment and profits that Neo-Marxists would be proud of.....

If you work in the bush with lots of biting flies, especially black flies, washing yourself with soap is really STOOPID. Unless you really enjoy feeding the little critters.

It’s the perfume stuff that attracts the bugs.

Also your sense of smell goes away after a few sweaty days of wearing body armour and getting moon dust sand blast most of the grime away. As for hair, it tends to get a bit oily for the first few days but after the 14th day it’s not that bad.

but a shower after all that really feels great. Same with throwing on some clean clothes.

As far as I have heard, they tailor soap to work better in warmer->hotter water, because most people find that more comfortable to wash with, rather than for a safety reason. Most of the harmful bacteria you would encounter in food prep would need like 160-170 degree F water to instantly kill it, which would likely be harmful to your hands to wash in...

Probably have to get an actual medic's advice, but I am pretty sure that a shower hot enough to actually do something about getting you clean would probably not leave you in the greatest condition (ie: alive). Most of the time, it is the scrubbing action that removes dirt, grime, and bugs off of you, not the water temperature.
My wife is a medic. Haha

It is not just the perfume that facilitates bug bites. Oily hair will prevent insect bites. The black flies and others easily get through freshly shampooed hair.

Wash less and your body will tend to output less oil. Many women never put soap on their faces. Rinsing seems to work.

If I feel like showering more than once a day, the other showers are soap free.

Completely different gear.

Does anyone else take swimming pool showers? Not cold showers. But you been working on shiat. Hot. Sweaty. Need a shower. Last thing you want is to get into boiling hot water.

Use JUST enough hot water so it's not a full on cold shower. But it's cool. And refreshing. And stops the sweating.

I do after I weedeat or something HOT like that.

Mowed the yard yesterday. It was a muddy mess... About got the tractor with the locking differential stuck around the trailers... Disgusting. I want to move. I'm tired of this property. Tired of living next to a rental slum. Tired of living in a ufcking drainage ditch...
