We are probably not going to wait untill our kid gets out of high school. Once he is done elementary school we will probably do online education (high school) for him. We have met other families that are mobile and he has talked with their kids an really likes the sound of the life style. We also have a friend that works for the school district as an online instructor. In his opinion kids get way more out of the online schooling in half the time than they do going to a building. So we have 4 more years to see if that is the way we are going to go.
Now there's a thought. Not only that, but we could choose a high school that's not in a state that's the 48th worst in the country for education. There's many things I like about Idaho, but that is NOT one of them.

Out of curiosity, what would your travel setup be, or have you not thought that far ahead yet? Camper, travel trailer, off road trailer, rooftop tent?

I think for us, if we were doing it full-time, we'd want something like a camper, or a black series trailer.

If you're one of the stupid mother ufckers who comes to a damn near stop in the regular lane before getting in the turning lane, I should have every right to rear end you. Then when you get out have every right to run your ass over to stop your ufcking stupidity genes from being spread in the world.

This. Does my place look like a bachelor pad? Sorta. But Im happy. Why should anyone else care? Also, how many ufcking "Live Laugh Love" shiats do I have to endure.
All you gotta do is close the door and get an air freshener. You shouldn't have to endure any shiats in your presence. Unless you're Jim's mom and into that.

For a long while now, Ive made a side gig out of buying cheap xterras with blown motors, having new-ish motors (okay running motors) put in, driving them as a commuter for a while and fixing stuff as I go, before selling them and starting over. Cleaning them out, hitting junkyards to get the parts they are missing, etc. honestly, its a lot of fun for me. Hunting them down, learning their history, and putting them back on the road. I've almost always had an Xterra daily doing it that way. I absolutely love the first gen Xterras (and have since they debuted) and know my way around these underpowered little shiats pretty well. Sadly motor swap prices are now to the the point I cant really make any money (or enough to make it worth it) flipping dead Xterras anymore. This is likely my last flipper one which kinda sucks.

And a guy at work made a stupid offer for the orange X so he is likely to be its next owner.

I am kinda digging the white tho. Like a lot. Maybe this one will hang around a bit.

That is most unfortunate. I will be hanging on to mine for the very foreseeable future. Sadly, I don't get to drive it as much as I'd like.

But, if I had to choose between my Fronty, and Xterra in the dirt, I'd pick the X. Every. Time.

We currently have a camperized ambulance that we use every weekend at the ski hills and for multi week trips in the summer. Have been using it for a couple years now and are really happy with it. We are going to start looking for a bit newer and larger one over the next couple years to build into a full time unit.

I keep looking for more of them up here but people price them way to high. Looked at 1 earlier this week with a blowen head gasket with 410,000km on it and they wouldn't go lower than 2500.00cad because it had a lift in it. At the absolute most it would be worth 1000.00 .

@Prime Daughter told me that Bonnie Brae Tavern closed. Man they had good food, nice family atmosphere, not a rowdy place unless the Avs or Broncos were playing.
Well that makes me sad.. I worked at the Conoco (used to be highest gas prices in town lol ) at the end of the block and ate many a meal here. The Campus lounge across the street used to have a bomb breakfast burrito. I heard the owner Jim Wiste ( played in the NHL and for DU ) passed and not sure what it's like now. Was a pretty cool neighborhood I couldn't afford to live in :) . Have you seen the Phipps mansion?
