It's the same platform as the Bronco Sport. Which is also a rebodied Escape.

To be clear, the Maverick is front wheel drive in its default state.

I know about the front wheel drive, which sucks if you can't get the AWD version. But let's be real. This is the size of what the Ranger, S10, Frontier and Tacoma (before they had names) used to be. When full size trucks became mammoths small truck grew and became "mid sized". It will be nice to get a new truck thats capable of small jobs for under 30 grand

I totally get it. And I think it'll find the audience that Ford wants. But it's not really a truck. It's a Ridgeline.

Ride along with the BIL on a test drive a couple weeks back. Interior looks nice at a glance but feels cheap closer up. Acceleration seemed okay from the passenger seat. I wouldn’t buy it, for more reasons than just that it’s a ford - but nice that someone is bringing back the compact truck. Maybe others will follow suit.

My understanding is that it has QR codes or something that you can scan, and 3D print your own accessories for it. Can’t remember exactly, but that was the jist I got watching some video at 2am. It’s actually pretty cool like that.

True, its closer to a truck than the Hyundai Santa Cruz though and it cost less.

For the record the stripped down Maverick starts at 19,990. I didnt know you could get anything new for under 20 grand anymore. I have read they have 100,000 customer orders already in place for these. Unfortunately the chip market has them thinking they will have 2200 finished by the end of the year

Clogged air filter? Check!
Inop manifold pressure sensor? Check!
Super lean condition at low loads causing the turbo to run red hot? CHECK! CHECK!

Side note: the filter that came off weighed over 40 lbs. The filter I put on weighed like 2 lbs.

It’s the right bank turbo on a C32 genset. Manifold pressure sensor went tits up so the engine ECM didn’t know how much boost it was making. Mix in a pair of clogged air filters from the sand (crusher application) from a cone, and you have everything you need to make it glow.

Oldest lost her other front tooth tonight. There was some blood. She had a ufcking panic attack. Went to supply the tooth ferry job just now. From the pocket change container, as one does. She got paid well. But. I went through it and all of my antique silver coins were in there.

The ufck? What? Someone dug through all my shiat and decided that my antique coins just go in the pocket change thing? The ufck. I'm ufcking pissed.

My oldest was like that too. My youngest finds a loose tooth and proceeds to work with it till she tears it out of her head then shows it off like a prize. Ugh.....
