I want to put in a single DIN receiver with flip out touch screen. But I'm worried that the stock mounting area is too far inset from the face of the dash that the receiver screen won't be able to fold out to a vertical position.

Can anyone recommend a receiver under $300 that will allow me to mount it and have it still put the screen at a vertical position? I have had two Pyle receivers in the past I really liked.

That offset is going to be your biggest challenge for a popup screen. I ahven't looked too closely at the mounting, but if you could mount a double din adapter upside down (radio goes in the bottom), that may be your best option. I would personally just go for a double din unit.

I agree with Muadeeb. And I did go for the double din in my 2000 X. It's looks very much at home don't you think?

Did you all install the Double Dins yourself? What dash kit do I need to make it fit so well?
I did. I bought the radio and adaptor cable and adaptor plate you will need directly from Crutchfield (they have a Black Friday sale coming up. The radio was so simple to swap with the adaptor cable. I wired that piece of it sitting at my desk. Very straightforward.

I would add in a picture of the harness wired up but my kids "cleaned up" my photos on the cloud. Also you will use your factory radios brackets and screws on the new radio. It could not be any simpler.

I didn't need a dash kit for mine. I bought one but ended up returning it. I just needed the harness kit. The head unit came with mounting brackets. I had to trim them a little to make them fit.

Ok so I need some recommendations for a double-DIN. I need to spend no mor than $200 and would like the following:

USB plug, SD card plug, CD player, Satellite navigation, front and rear aux and I think i need 6 channels since I have tweeters on my columns. Can anyone give me some ideas on what model to look for?
I had a Pyle single din flipup before that I really liked and seemed to have all of these features.
