Hey guys, I just recently joined...originally from clubxterra.org...thought I could add another message board to my daily reading list!

I'm originally from Raleigh, NC but just recently moved to Ottumwa, IA for a job. Went to school at NC State for mechanical engineering and now working in product engineering for John Deere.

I have always been interested in cars and modding things...started with a 95 BMW 318ti turned into a lowered auto cross car...bought a few craigslist jet skis to play with a while back...and before moving to Iowa, decided I needed more ground clearance and 4wd in case this southern guy had to drive in snow.

My xterra is a 2004 4wd. I told myself I wasn't going to waste money on mods this time around...so I didn't...I thought each one out very carefully :D

Highlights of my mods thus far:

2" body lift
AC adjustable shackles (2 1/8" lift)
AC UCAs
3" Bils shocks
Airbox mod
Rear sway bar delete
4 X 6" spot lights on roof
32" Cooper Discoverer ATP
Rustoleum bedliner on all trim/wheels/roof rack etc and plasti dip chrome emblems


Ignore the lack of a front bumper right now...custom tube bumper is coming soom. Stock plastic POS fell off after a weld broke on the bumper mounts.

I'm about 99% positive I saw you and your X when I was up between christmas and new years....I grew up in fairfield/keosauqua ;)

thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I won't be in town MLK day for a mod day Luke! We need to do it again sometime though...I need to change out heater core hoses, seal up my power steering leaks, and I am about to buy 3" Bils for my front (already have rear) and some low profile bump stops for good measure...AND I need to grease my UCA zerks because they are squeaky...AND I need to take tin snips to my transfer case selector surround after my body lift...

As you can see, I have a lot of stuff to catch up on :D

I have emailed Frontier4x4 twice about custom fab for my bumper and can't get a response so I might have to actually...*gasp* call them and interact with people...darn LOL

Well I should be coming back to NC hopefully within 6 months :D There are a lot of NC xterras on clubx I think...we should be able to find some places to wheel...how is Boone for trails? it's in the mountains I assume there has to be some cool places...I go there frequently for snowboarding

Everything is private up our way.. Ask Kris.. But if you come up to board, let me know.. I'll be looking for you out there.. And maybe we can do a nice meet and greet.

I was just in Fairfield Iowa over Christmas and new years. My gfs dad lives there and I find it peaceful lol. We went to ottumwa a few times to hit up the target lol. I'll be back up there in February (I think) maybe we could grab a bite and brews

Definitely man! Sounds good! let me know next time you are around this area. There are a few other Xterra guys around here too.

Bout time, If you cant get ahold of Luke let me know. I know hes building 2 insane rigs right now but he can knock a bumper out in a day normally.
