Hello all! I'm new to the site and just tell everyone a little about myself. I am a Navy vet (8 years) currently in the inactive reserve but heavily considering active reserve as well.

I'm the owner of a 2002 Shock Blue Xterra. I've owned the Xterra for a little over a year now. I haven't done much to it other then put Grabber AT2 on her as well as did the PML in the front to level the Xterra out.

Thank you. I've been thinking about plasti dipping the plastics on her as I am tired of applying the new black product every wash but first I need to replace the right rear bumper cap as it was damaged in a hit in run.

Bedliner does wonders for that too

Welcome in, I agree that the blue is awesome, I can't say my favorite though. There is just something about the Lava Red being not quite red and not quite orange. Bedliner is great for the plastics. I am eventually going to have all of my plastics bedlined in either Monstaliner Black or Smurfadelic.

I'll have to look into the bedliner spray. Is it smooth texture?

Depends on who you go with. They're all textured, but some more than others. Monstaliner appears to be the 'smoothest', as it won't tear up your leg if you fall into it. Rustoleum is about the roughest.

Yea, I think I'll go with the plasti dip as its non-permanent.

Thank you all for welcoming me in!!!

Welcome! I've seen one other X that color blue before, and I damn near wrecked trying to snap a pic of it. Gorgeous.

That's an awesome blue! I don't think I've ever seen one of those before!

Welcome from the East Coast!

Don't let these plasti-dip ideas get into your head. Man up and get some sand paper and paint. If you're going to redo plastics, make it permanent.

Believe it or not, I saw that same Shock Blue X today (obviously not yours, but the one I previously mentioned)....

Definitely nice color! I am actually out in your neck of the woods for a couple weeks. I drove the X from NM to San Diego for a class and then I am leaving it out here for a while to get some work done.
