Hey, new guy in Roswell. GA. Have had an Armada for a couple of years and a MDX but needed a 3rd vehicle with the teens who are driving now and soon so I picked up a used 2005 S.

Looking forward to being part of the community.

Welcome to the Nation. Have you done/know if they did the transmission cooler bypass? That is one of the larger problems (easy fix) with the earlier second gens.

The bypass was done and the tranny fluid and coolant looked fine.

However, I went ahead and replaced the radiator with an aftermarket unit the first week I had it so I've undone the bypass now. Did the timing chains/tensioners, serpentine belt and tensioner, water pump, PCV, rotors and pads including ebrakes, cabin filter, oil pressure sensor, front wheel bearings and thermostat while I was at it.

The car is in pretty good shape but had some rust at the wheels and the passenger bearing was shot and the oil pressure sensor was too.

Running great now, just have to fix the roof rack bolts that are twisting in the nutserts and rewrite the roof lights and I'm good for now.

Thanks for the welcome.

Until you swap out the fluid for S, you still run the risk of contamination
