Im thinking about adding some lights on the front bumper. Basically a setup like Fink and some others have on their xs. I had some hella rallye 1000 Black Magics. Unfortunately they looked too big where I wanted to put them. I measured the headlights and there roughly 7 inch diameter wise.

Basically just looking for some opions on lights that are bright and gonna look good mounted between the headlights on the front bumper.

1: Hella Black magic 500

(mixed reviews on how bright these are)

2:Kc Hi-lites Slimlite 121 slim-lite 130 watt long range
http://www.amazon.com/KC-HiLiTES-121-SlimLite-130-Watt/dp/B0002CO9L2/ref=pd_sim_auto_1

3:Considering some PIAA but not sure which ones to get
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=bl_sr_a...words=PIAA+lights&rh=n:15684181,k:PIAA+lights
(would like to stay around $200 give or take)

what do you guys think????

thanx

I'll check into those eagle eyes, thanx

also, one more question, Say I wanted to add some lights to the bottom of the stock bumper, where the cutouts go would the 4 inch PIAA fit there? I know i'll run into an issue with the wiring but I got a buddy thats good with the kind of stuff.
heres the link for the lights

X2 on KC Hi lites...if you are looking for a bright light that goes pretty far I would pick them.
Heres a pic, they are the 2 UPPER lights...the 2 lower head lights have the high beams ON! And the KC's are brighter

I'll toss yet another one into the mix. http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/LED-Work-Lamp

click the 125mm tab, and go for either round or square, whichever you prefer, but, those are 5" diameter lamps. and, at 2000 lumens with only 2.25A of draw, you won't notice the difference between when they're on or off...you can almost run 5 of them for what ONE 130W halogen lamp draws on the battery. if you're looking at 2 of them, you could use 9 of them for the same draw, and I can almost unquestionably guarantee they'll be brighter multiple times brighter. not to mention that they're considerably cheaper ;)

I love my PIAA's 580s very bright..
Remember this.. You get what you pay for.. If you need more lights at night maybe save up and do it right.. I ran hella kc knock offs and they did good.. (Stan build) I had 2 cheap. Or therm tool lights in the bumper and they did great too.. But my PIAAs out do those by 50% and I only have 2

need to find someone that has some piaa's locally so when I get my DDM LED's I can compare, I've seen so much good stuff about piaa's, but, their size and cost turn me away.

rigids are the bomb, if they had ones that were cheaper I'd be jumping on them in a heartbeat.

The dually D2's outperform the ones I'm getting by an additional 600 lumens, and have .35A less power draw, and from what it looks like, they're almost 2" smaller in each direction, but, they're over 3 times the cost, which isn't worth the increased cost for me.

Im really leaning towards PIAA right now, but that could change

still got some a couple questions though,

1st: will the 4 inch PIAA fits on the place already cut out in the stock bumper??
2nd: Which series should I put in between the headlights mounted like fink and on the stan build?? (6 inch maybe or are they to big?). I just dont wanna have the same problem I had with my hellas. They were nearly as big as the headlights.
3: Am I gonna need those lamp lock things?

Its a 2004 Xe with no fogs

I like that rigid industries but dang that stuff will be on down the road

when you say thin....

Do you mean that im gonna need the lamp locks to mount them on the stock bumper, or are they to thin for me to put in the stock cut outs?

Im for sure going PIAA 520s between the headlights mounted on the bumper

Thanx

Nice. My theory on the locks is if someone wants the lights bad enough they are either going to get them or destroy them trying. Either way you're out lights. Just my 2c.

Unfortunately the piaa switch isn't like the rest of em. If you look in my build thread you can get an idea. The wire comes from underneath not behind. Attached to the wire is a plug about a 1/2" wide. You have to stick the switch to the dash with trim tape. The setup kind of limits locations. The switch was the only part of the harness I didn't modify. I did a lot of cutting and soldering to make the install easier. You'll see what I'm talking about when you get em. Its all plug and play out of the box but I couldn't understand how they (piaa) expected people to get the huge plugs through the firewall. That's why all 4 of my relays are inside the cab hooked into a fused distribution block. If you're considering adding more lights you might consider this option. It will make any future installs a little easier.

Thanx man, I think i'll use the PIAA relays and i'll give the PIAA switch a shot.

Does anybody know if the switch can be swapped? Same guy that's gonna help me wire mine up switched the switches on his 4-runner but not sure if it'll work with these lights

Nice. Those have a really nice white light to them. How do you like that harness? Not bad for grill lights but can you imagine how they want you to get up to the roof without cutting anything?

That would be insane trying to get them to the roof, without hacking something up lol not real thrilled with the switch but I think i can make it work
