What prep work did you do? Did you use a spray gun? What Type? What all did you mask? How well did it spray with the thinner added? I noticed the Large SUV/Truck kit comes with 4 gallons... Did you get the kit and only use 2? I'm really curious cause I'm seriously thinking of doing my X like that
How I made the magic happen....For prep work I washed it real good waited a couple of hours then began masking it off...Masking it off wasnt the hardest thing but I would say it was the most tedious only because I had already dipped my trim and had make sure it was very precise and wasnt going to over dip on those areas, I masked the Front and rear bumpers, side trim, majority of the windows and only some of the roof rack. The excess dip I just peeled off...Now when I did this there was no desert tan Sprayable dip in the gallons so I had to order Rubber dip from another distributor (Toolorbit). This dip with the mixture of VM&P Paint Thinner 50/50 gave my dip a much different texture, it came out Rough and slightly gritty, mean; where as I have also dipped my other vehicle with the DIP-S from DYC and it gave it the smooth sleek city look, The different mixture is the only reason I can figure for the different texture since there were no other variables. So , I used 2 gallons desert tan and 2 gallons of VM&P paint thinner for a total of 4 Gallons. For the sprayer, I used the $100
Wagner Power Painter Plus 6.6 GPH with EZ Tilt Technology from Home Depot. . I did not get the kit. I would recommend it man, I love my dip it is pretty durable been through quite a bit of brush and whatnot and so far only a couple little tears but nothing that cant be repaired with my tan rattle can of dip.
Now if there was one thing I would do in retrospec it would have to be probably one more gallon; other than that its pretty good stuff holds together well and you can virtually make any color you want.
Forgot to mention, I dipped the rims also with only rattle cans took the tires off when I dipped them.
