They've just started actually. I was bummed I couldn't put them on but it's not the end of the world because it shouldn't take long once I get started.

On another note, my built in body mount bolts are pretty rusted.

The hardest part of mounting my RMX sliders was bolting them up in order to mark a hole to drill, then taking them off to drill the hole before bolting them up again. Time consuming, but simple enough.

These came with what looks like one self tapping bolt for each bracket but I'm going to talk to Chris about mounting them tomorrow when I call about the nuts.

I'm going to need a bigger drill.

Note to self and others who install these after me. On front mount, when lining up by using the stock body mount bolts, drill bottom left hole at angle towards the engine to avoid inside drill point from being next to the frame cross member and otherwise blocked.

At lunch I decided to put the antenna on and see how it looked. At that point I realized I'd put the stud on the mount but I put it on upside down. It's an easy fix but I figured I'd point it out before someone else did.

Yeah......these sliders are gonna have to be welded on. I don't know how people are able to get the right angle on order to drill holes correctly. My dad worked as a welder for years before he got in the grain elevator business so I'm going to be calling him to get these welded on.

Dude! A really good drill and drill bit! Nothing cheap. I bet your pop has something powerful enough, shouldn't be smoking, think you were spinning too fast.

Or your bit was too dull which got too hot....light pressure and barely shave...

I guess I should have clarified. I went and got a kick ass drill from my dad and the bits I were using were new (when I started drilling RIP.) I managed to get all but one hole drilled on the passenger side and decided it was good enough for a fitting. Well I wasn't able to drill the top holes straight because the rocker panel was in the way so I drilled at an upward angle. When I got the slider set back up there and a bolt put in, I didn't line up on the one next to it, my dumb mistake, and the top bolts wouldn't even come close to going in because they had to angle so steeply to reach to the other side. I couldn't simply drill from the other side because of things like more frame, exhaust, and other metal stuffs obstructing my drill.

So, my observation is that either I'm doing this all wrong, or I'm the first person to bolt this design on and it's not setup right. Either way I'm planning on welding them on next week unless someone can enlighten me.

Man that sucks, I would make sure you call them and let them know of your situation as...and I hate to say it, but it might help in the future for others.

Good luck!

Yeah, that's what I was telling my dad this morning that I might have shot myself in the foot by being the guinea pig. I definitely want to help others and Nisstec out though. I'm just waiting til they have a little time to get to work and get settled since they are an hour behind me.

Just weld em, it the bolts in place and weld em and be done with it.

So, are your NissTec sliders mounted yet? I like the design, but have waited to place an order until I can see photos of them mounted on your truck. Also, I'm interested in your adventures in getting them mounted.

They aren't mounted quite yet. As of now I plan on welding them on sometime next week. I called Nisstec today and Chris was in meetings all day so I didn't get to talk to him.

Ah, I see what you are saying now, I think. IIRC, even mounting our Shrock sliders I used a 90 degree bend adapter on my drill to get a straight shot without hitting the rocker panels. Good luck, and let us know how it all ends up.

Don't forget to shoot bedliner into and on the holes you drilled to orevent rust...maybe see if dad has some small strip metal he can cap them with...

Ahh, that would have changed things.

Thanks, my wife was worried about that and I said I'd ask what people on the forum had to say, but I hadn't got around to it yet.

Breaker Breaker one nine, can I get a radio check, over?

Looks good. I haven't been creative enough to talk much on mine, but it kills the time listening to the conversations. Around the interstate an interesting and colorful political debate can light up the airwaves at any time.

Waiting for pics of the antenna. I think I might want a blue one for my Bronco, if I like the shade.

I had posted this pic of the antenna the other day real quick with nothing hooked up. I can get some more pictures if you'd like. I'll have more anyways once I get this setup grounded and tuned.

I figure the politically bent conversions here and Oklahoma will be pretty entertaining.
