So thanks to a bunch of amazing people here on XN and some very generous sponsors my Xterra will soon be winch supplied and 2" higher. I already created a thank you thread and expressed my gratitude there to the people involved but I wanted to mention a little something in my build thread for future readers. A big thank you to Nisstec Lifts for their donation of the lift kit and to Offroad Performance Parts for their help with the winch. Danny at ORPP and Chris at Nisstec are both amazing guys and I'd be happy to business with them on any given day. Thank you to all of the individuals who pitched in to gift me these amazing things, but they are just things more importantly thank you for your friendship. It may be on the internet and spread across the country but your actions speak to what real friendship is.

Go XN!

Thanks, I'm going to do a second cost tonight and then take some pictures. The color came out a little darker than the cap but I don't think you'll be able to tell on the places these parts will be.

if your really worried about it try and clear it.. i might come out a shade lighter.

I stopped multiple times coming home from Lawton so the trip took longer than anticipated. Then when I got home I had fatherly duties to attend to, then I had to download the pictures, edit the pictures, and upload the pictures. Now that is all done so without further adieu.....

and the clearance left in my garage :D

A HUGE thank you to OKXterra and MississippiGal for opening up their home and garage to me and helping me with this project. There's no way I could have tackled this by myself and now with the knowledge I've gleaned from this mod I hope to be able to help someone else out in the future. Another HUGE thank you to the kind people who donated their money and products to this generous project. Thanks to Nisstec Lifts and Offroad Performance Parts for being amazing sponsors who take care of the Xterra community.

We started working on the lift around 8:30 and finished right around 3:30 with a short break for pizza. We ran into trouble on the lower shock bolt on the front and rounded off the nut, luckily we were still able to get the bolt and nut off by removing it from the bolt side. MississippiGal ran to the store to get a replacement bolt and nut as well as a box of cotter pins for the UCAs. She dropped those off and promptly went to get the pizza to keep this train rolling. We managed to round off another nut on the passenger rear, but in a much worse spot. The shackle.....in comes the sawzaw to save the day. We wound up cutting this nut off and making progress. We only had trouble on the passenger side today.....

After we got everything back together and settled back on the ground I was astonished at the difference it made. We were both actually taken aback at just how much lift was achieved. We did a test fit of the winch in the Hefty bumper and ran into more problems with time allowed for fixing those problems running extremely short we loaded the winch back in the box and I headed off to get an alignment before they closed. The alignment wound up costing me more than I was originally quoted because of the labor involved with the camber bolts, but I was kinda held hostage with my Xterra already on the lift at 4:15 in the afternoon on a Saturday an hour away from home. Driving home I stopped at about 5 different places off the highway and I could have literally drove around the country for hours finding great spots to grab pictures. I almost got a picture of the Xterra with a guy harvesting wheat in the background but saw the turnoff too late and didn't want to pull a uey.

Looks good Mac, I really dig the 2nd Gen X's. And it's good to see it still fits in the garage!

Here's a good picture prior to the lift so you can better see a difference in the lift. This will have to suffice til I can take a drive way shot that I can set up to be exactly before and after.

Well awesome man... Now the real question.. How does the wife feel about this?

I know you thought a lift may never happen due to her concerns of safety.

So do you feel like a big truck now???

She doesn't like that it's harder to put the baby in the car seat, she likes how the lift feels. She drove it around town with me this morning and she really likes it.

I definitely feel like a big truck now! The difference is huge!
Now you have to come to NXM

That looks great Mac! Nice photos too :D

Thanks man, I kept finding great places to take pictures but felt rushed because I knew Becca and Connor were expecting me at home.

You need to do this mod Hyde, it was relatively easy. I wanna stop by and wheel in a couple weeks but I am going to be tight on gas money and would be hard pressed to drive all of the way out to the river :(

What mod? A lift? Eventually...I have a plan for that...I found a donor Titan that's marked for scrapping within the year, he's gonna call me, and I get wheel to wheel front and rear, suspension and all. His shocks need replacing, but, that's cheap given the low low price I'm gonna pay for the parts I'm getting. That'll lift the rear about 6" if memory serves, then I have to do something for the front, since the rear is leaf on axle instead of leaf under axle...

I took your advice and moved over to the Nation. Your build is epic!! And the donations of the winch and lift top off the cake bro. Awesome to see your rig transform from stock to what it is today. Thanks for sending me this way!
