Sliders look good mac!

Sent from Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters

Truck's lookin' killer man! Very nice.
Thanks guys!
Yes, they do. Do you like them? If you had it to do all over again would you still choose them? Why or why not? (sounds like an essay question in high school doesn't it?)

I'll tell you how I feel. I like the design of these sliders. If I knew these would have required the amount of drilling compared to other sliders I probably would have jumped on an opportunity for a set of used ones I'd had a couple months ago. That's my mistake on research, I knew these would require drilling but didn't know other brands offered bolt on with only one extra hole required.

If Nisstec changes their bolt on design to incorporate the stock holes then I'll recommend these all day. If you have no problem welding these on, these are great. If you have a right angle drill bit and don't mind drilling 32 holes or so plus 6 self tapping screws in your frame then the bolt on should be bullet proof.

I'll let you know how they do offroading next month as long as nothing keeps me from going.

Oh, and the body mount brackets are only good for holding the sliders in place while you mount them.

Looks good Mac, now that thing needs a lift sir.

Thank you sir.

It sure does, I just need a raise ;)

baduhm tsss!

Really though, I can sorta tell that my front suspension wants some attention. My problem is I still haven't got my wife a vehicle and we can't afford a full on payment. I have an investment set to liquidate sometime this year but there's no guarantee on how much I'll make, rent house to be sold.

Man, that bumper makes your rig look so aggressive man. Awesome stuff!
Good luck on your rental house too. Hopefully you can make a quick clean sale on it and not have to deal with drama.

Thanks man, I wish I'd gone with the black powder coat, but hindsight = 2020
Clean sale with a large profit margin**

Don't you know it! I'm partners on it with my dad so whatever the profit is will be halved, but there's still money to be made.

She wants a GMC Terrain and frankly I want it for her so it works. I like the mpg because this Xs mpg is going down down down....

You need a BD tuner then, I'm still getting close to factory mpg with much heavier sliders, more aggressive and sticky tires, and a much more aggressive tune....

Careful on the terrain, coworker got one about a month ago and it's been at the dealership shop already for warranty work...didn't catch what it was, but, less than a month then it needs fixing = bad IMO....

bullydog GT model 40410, amazon's selling em for about 330 right now, nisstec has em for 380, our 10% off brings it down to $342....most important feature is the WOT restriction removal, governor override, trans temp monitoring, and retune your ECU to a specific tune instead of a "learning" tune where it tries to detune to stock performance no matter how much you do to the engine to beef it up.

do the "regular" tune and if you're 100% stock you'll see a nice boost in performance (around 10%) and 15-20% improvement in fuel economy....(personal experience, not their claims) I've got a very aggressive "dyno tune" that did a full rewrite of the ECU, so, I use it to ditch the WOT restriction, and monitor temps and battery voltage...however, I did have the person that wrote the tune analyze the BD regular tune and incorporate the fuel efficiency into his tune, which, was worth even more power, and a little better economy...

if you're gonna do exhaust at all, or cai, or anything that'll modify performance, on an 09+, you really need to grab either a BD or the superchips cortex.

oh yeah, it has a speedo that's based on the tire size you input, and it calculates it all the way out the rear to have an accurate speedo with oversized tires if memory serves (it won't change your stock speedo though, sorry)

I did some math on that and came up with an estimate of the bd paying itself off in about 10k miles. That's a rough estimate but that would be nice if short term money wasn't more important.

My mom and dad have one... They are nice.. But they had it leak ALL the oil out... Some recall GM is doing.. They temp fixed it and the dealer said blow it up and they will install a new one per GM

Mac that bumper needs some winch love... When are you ever going to man up?

Your rig is looking great Mac. I'm jealous of the Duratracs and the Hefty bumper. Since you want a black powder coat, just get a new one and send me the grey one, I like it as is lol.

I'll have to do some more research on the Terrain it looks like, she also said today she likes the Equinox.

Man up? What's that ;)

Thanks a lot man, if it was cost effective I'd take you up on that but alas it's not haha. I think I have a solution though.

Bedliner!

I got some to spray on the slider welds and just continued on after that. I like the texture of this stuff. Rusto bedliner.

Careful with the Rusto stuff. Maybe it's just my bad luck but I've got quite a few faulty cans where it wont spray unless your shaking it regardless of how much pre shaking I've done and what angle I hold it. Otherwise I liked it too, what is on my hood and sides, currently.

I didn't have any trouble with the can I used. I figure that when I do get ready to spray the bumper I'll take my time and if a can isn't working I'll just use a new one and return it. The place I buy most of my supplies from is pretty good about taking returns on defective products.

Thanks Kelly!

It's decided, when I get some warm weather again I'm going to get some newspaper and mask the heck outta my rig and paint that bumper black with the bedliner. I'm sick of the grey and I'd rather not look at it anymore.

May want to remove it, hang with wire, and spray it for even coats and keeping it out of the wind...

Getting this thing on and off is a B, I would like to do what you suggested but I'm tied by two hands. I am not worried about this stuff being affected like I would regular paint either. If I screw up I'll just add another coat haha.

Ohh yeah, I forgot, nobody local....Becca won't help ya with it? ;)

Honestly, the only reason I suggest it is so you can use the roll on kind instead of spray on, and, you can do the inside as well...

Yeah, the closest help is an hour away and this thing is heavy heavy heavy. Becca would help but she wouldn't be much help. I really just want to change the color of the bumper and this spray on stuff was great for coverage the other day. I think if I allotted myself a little more time than I did the other day then I'll be golden. It was relatively cheap too.

So I have the coolest Xterra friends ever!

2013-04-30_11-56-15_549_zps88c460b6.jpg

My Xterra will not be fitting in my garage soon enough! Unless it just eeks in there but I doubt it. It's all good though because it will be my first time with a lifted vehicle and I'll trade that for garage time every day!
