Until there is a release from Nissan, I don't believe it.
Well time to buy a 2wd frontier. Drop a LS1 in it. 4 link the rear and long travel the front <= true long travel. And move out to the desert....
If Nissan reads this, my next vehicle will either be a 4 Runner, a Silverado, a F-150, a Jeep Wrangler, or if Ford pulls a rabbit out of their butt a new Bronco.
No. No Chebby. Ever.CC Colorado. Diesel. Front and rear lockers.
The only choice left for a compact SUV that is capable is the 4-Runner. Or a Heep. But I really don't want to drive another one of those. If Nissan reads this, my next vehicle will either be a 4 Runner, a Silverado, a F-150, a Jeep Wrangler, or if Ford pulls a rabbit out of their butt a new Bronco.
Wow, really bummed to hear this. But, I will say that I am happy to see the XTerra go out as the capable vehicle that it is rather than being "refreshed" as another crossover.

I also really want Nissan to build the IDx, just call it something cooler, like 160SX.
That's the thing that really pissed me off. Is that they dump the truck and complain of poor sales when it hasn't been in ANY advertising since the 1st Gen that I can recall. Maybe if they plugged it like they did the 1st Gen, then maybe, it'd be salvageable.
Nissan you did a huge disservice to the second generation and then blame the .gov on it, your the one that couldn't develop a fuel efficient engine, you stuck a 4.0liter with more hp than necessary in the truck, what do you expect for fuel efficency. Its like they have been looking for an excuse to kill it off and just let time do it itself.
It's a box. On wheels. Find me an SUV of that era that didn't have a 'high rollover probability'. My brother rolled his Tracker. The Gen 1 also faced safety critics. IIRC, there was an ad or article bashing the Xterra for its high rollover probability.
