I'm actually looking into getting one of these and then two spare cameras, mounting them on the sides of my rad skid behind some lexan, so they're aimed at the front tires/slightly infront of them, so I can have in-vehicle tire spotting. I'll rig all three cameras to one screen with a 3 position switch...may have to get a cheap DVR and add a 4th camera to the roof or grill for a trail-cam

With that setup you need to go HD go pro to get some gnarly shots for off road fun, ahaha!

I trust my backing up abilities, except at night in pitch dark in BFE on a trail. First things first, I need to get some backup lights. I found this out the hard way one night, hahaha!

I want a gopro as well, but, I'm doing multiple waterproof nightvision capable cameras for the sake of being able to wheel at night without having to illuminate everything and give away my position if I don't want to.

stop thinking civilian and think tactically, and remember I've spent plenty of time in the military, and used to having to know how to be stealthy.

I'm also thinking for those gorgeous nights when you're out under the stars and you're coming up on camp and don't want to blind everyone. That, and the fact that I'm to a degree aiming for setting up in a potential "WTSHTF" situation, resulting in the need to be undetected in movement at night.

I did! The 4' Firestik II antenna (in lime green!) and 18' coax cable arrived today. Gonna go have mod day in Winnemucca with Joe later this month to install.

So I installed the CB today. Did not solder the cable, but also did not tune it either since did not have a tuner. Got the weatherscan channel working. Gonna have to find an SWR to tune it all...at some point.

Updated OP with pic of where I mounted the CB. Here is the only pic I took during install:

I ran the cable along my bumper, along the heim joint and into the rear step bumper part to enter the X. Along the pass siding, under weather mats and into the center console/dash area to come out under dash in open space in front of shifter.

They have served me very well. First day I put them on, I scratched the crap outta them wheeling. I have the optional step mounted on mine, which is nice for short people who actually use the sliders as a step, haha. Mounting them was pretty nice, too. Only had to drill one hole per side.

I kinda want to add glitter to my bedlined parts of my X for those "Oh, shiny!" moments. Now I just need to research this a bit more to figure out how to do it....paint bedliner then spray on glitter maybe?

Soon my X will be the unicorn edition, tehehehe!

I just like sparkly things and figured this would be a good step towards drooling when i look at my rig. Besides, it's a cheap mod and I am beyond broke. My X sits in the garage partially naked on top (since I have to take everything off to fit it in there, haha) and looks at me so forlornly.

Stupid rain we've had here for past few weeks makes trail runs non-existant. Boooo!
