WTB - ARB fridge

Looking to purchase an ARB fridge, but can't afford the sticker price of a new one.

Anyone have one they don't use anymore, or want to get out of?

Even though I'm in Canada, I have access to a US address for shipping, so location isn't a big deal.

Thx.

So I'm trying to wrap my head around the specs..

They list power consumption at 0.7 ah/h. That's amp hours per hour, not simply a draw of 0.7 amp
It lists 40 watt average power consumption

Ohms law calculation. 12v @ 40 watts = 3.3 amp draw.

Vs. ARB fridge that lists their specs at 0.87 amps per hour. (Not amp hour per hour)

ARB does not list the wattage of the fridge, so this is an assumption, but an ohms law calculation again, I get the ARB fridge at 10.44 watts

If I'm correct (not sure if I am) the ironman fridge will take 4 times the power to run vs the ARB.

I believe the arb specs are correct, as I've talked to guys with them, who tell me they have run the fridge for 2+ days without killing a battery.

By doing my research with all the major fridges and reading what people got. Basically all the major brands run 3-4 amp draw they pretty much use the same compressor. They don't run continuously so depending on insulation whats in it, outside temperature the amp hour changes on test conditions.

Owning the 50 qt. ARB is one of the best mods/gear acquisitions I have made. Just do it.

Pricey...yes, no denying it.

BUT...purchasing one is a game changer if you camp/wheel/road trip a lot.

I calculated one year of ice purchases at around $300. So, this fridge will have paid for itself in 2.5 years. Will you be wheeling in three years? I will. ;)

The only thing I miss is the "ice slosh" when my X gets really tippy.

Also, on the power issue. The ARB has three setting plus a low voltage cut off to prevent battery depletion.

Good luck, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Running a edgestar 40qt here. I'll never use a cooler again. Nothing like fresh steak and cold beer in the back country. Its pretty much like the fridge in your house only in your trunk. It really completely changed dinner around the campsite for me. Expensive yes but worth every penny. No dripping drinks no spoiled meat no stopping for ice. Weeks of cold.

I've had an Engel 35 for a while now. https://www.engel-usa.com/products/fridge-freezers/engel-mt35-ac-dc-fridge-freezer

I like it because we can use it in freezer mode for the first couple of days on a trip, then switch it to fridge temps and let the frozen items defrost for the rest of the week. When we run it this way, power consumption is very low and the defrosting food acts like ice for drinks and other stuff that we add throughout the week.

I have a friend who wants to sell his Engel (exactly like mine) I can ask him about it if you would like me to.

I have had some experience now the Ironman fridge and I am super impressed with them. Packing Ice cream for the kids is def a plus! Especially When Its 100+ out here in California! I am not trying to be biased against the ironman fridge but since I am running a Crazy Deal on them right now I think you should pull the trigger on the Ironman. They Are 100% comparable to the ARB fridge and at the sale price it is a lot of fridge for the money!!...Just my 2 cents. Again Not trying to be biased...but it happens..;)
