Figured out that the new horrible sound coming from my engine compartment is coming from the alternator. I guess it is time for an upgrade of some sort.

Just ordered up a Rugged Rocks alternator yesterday. Apparently they are sealed with an idle charge of 130 and a peak of 180. So better than the stock.

Installed AutoZone reman Quest alternator today! Anyone know the bolt size and thread pitch for the ground on the back? It is smaller than the bolt that was in the Xterra alternator.

I hate to say it, but I think they might all be different. The last three that I went through all had different patterns, and the bolts all came with the alternators. Might be a good idea to go back to the store and mention it.

Let the wife drive it to work as her 4Runner is in the shop. He had all kinds of questions about it. The best one.....WTH? Where did you get that? I didn't think you would ever drive something like that. I believe she blew some minds today.

Added an oil catch can. For anyone who doesn't think they need one just pull your pcv hose off and look inside it. Mine was full of oil and debris. If you can catch that nasty stuff in a can and stop it from going through your engine I think it's worth getting one.

Transformed the Chef for the next phase of his life - he has moved to San Antonio to replace NMTerras Jr's totalled car. Meet Chef 3.0 - the daily driver! (kinda)
- removed gobi rack
- removed skid plates
- removed LEDs
- removed most of the HP
- replaced uniballs in TC UCAs to eliminate slop/excessive play

Wait, what?!?! I was mega confused for a minute. I first read it as you sold Chef 2.0 to the same person as Chef 1.0 (assuming it as San Antonio, NM or something) and your picture was a new ride for you. After reading it slower, I understand now lol.

What's next for you? Modding out the Dodge or is something else in the works?

Chef will be coming back in a year or two. Ram is already modded as much as it needs to be. I'm done crawling for a while. No time, and other hobbies taking priority (along with work)
