Thinking about personalized plates . . .

If I do them what should they say?

Colorado rules:
Up to 7 characters
All the 26 English letters are allowed (uppercase only)
1-9 allowed (not 0 though)
Nothing offensive allowed
Spaces, dashed and periods (counted as a character)

I would love something like PRIUSH8R but too many characters.

Some ideas -

PLOW
THEPLOW
SLASA
PRSPLOW

Help figure something out. I would love something clever/funny, too.
FAH Q (wish that would fly)
RUH ROH
IOK UOK

From what I've noticed in Colorado, not to many people have personalized plates. So getting common words might be possible for you. Around here everybody and their grandma has them (including me) so you have to be creative to get anything worth a damn.

How about
NOPRIUS
H8PRIUS
PRUSPLW

Haha! Thanks, Jay. I like H8PRIUS a lot and that could be the potential winner.
I kind of hate acknowledging their existence and immortlizing them on my plates but I still might do it.
Maybe HBRDH8R. Kind of subtle but still gets the point across.

What is this fascination with hating hybrids and prius's?

I just don't understand glamorizing our ****ty gas mileage and excessive use of oil. If I could put a hybrid engine in my Xterra and lessen my dependance on oil I would definitely do it. If I had no budget I would put an electric engine in... something similar to the Teslas...

I need an Xterra because I want 4wd, I have 2 kids, 2 dogs, and I tow. I love my Xterra but I do not love it's excessive consumption of gasoline. I would absolutely change that if it wasn't insanely expensive.

In about 16 months my Xterra will be paid off.... at that point I will be getting myself some sort of hybrid or electric. I would love a Tesla or the new Lexus hybrids... I also wouldn't mind a prius.

There is nothing wrong with lessening your footprint and impact. It should be admired... not ridiculed.

Personally, I don't hate hybrids in general. I think they're a perfectly logical choice for a vehicle and the mileage is a huge selling point. I do however hate the air of smugness that many Prius owners exude.

The " I drive a Prius so that automatically makes me a better and more responsible human being than you! I'm single handedly saving the planet and I want to make sure that you know it!" attitude.

And it really only seems to be the Prius owners that do it. If you have a hybrid Ford or Lexus or hell GMC. Those are regular people like you and me that just want to save money on gas.

Plus, I've driven a Prius rental over long distances. It's a festival of plastic death on the inside and sure, it gets 50mpg, but it's a terribly uncomfortable car. I'd never buy one.

Again. Nothing against hybrids. I get the purpose and I completely support it. If they made a hybrid X, I'd be all over it.

However, it has been my experience through my personal interactions with Prius owners that they more often than not have an air of superiority to their personality. And I don't like it. And I certainly don't subscribe to it. I'm no better than anyone else. I'm sure there are some Prius owners who are really cool people. I just haven't met them.

As far as the car itself? I lived with one for over a week this year. I didn't enjoy it. It was uncomfortable, the steering had zero feedback, my legs went numb after a while. It just want an enjoyable driving experience. There's just better ways to do a hybrid from my point of view.

Haha. Thanks, Dave.

I think first of all I need to explain that this concept for my license plate and my X's "persona" of the Prius Plow is pure levity.
Tongue in cheek, humorous, facetious and most of all ridiculous come to mind.
I actually like the carbon footprint, earth-saving concept of hybrids. I don't buy into the overall worth of many offerings, though.
I very much dislike Priuses for various reasons - as mentioned - read my build thread.
This is a thread meant to generate ideas for a personalized license plate and certainly the Prius Plow persona will be considered in submissions. At the end of the day I hope all can get a good laugh at the creativity and humor posted here and maybe I can find an option that makes most people laugh when they see it on the truck.

I've got a custom plate on mine reading MUDDAWG since I'm a UGA fan and I have truck nuts hanging under it to keep with the dog theme.
