Found more damage in the corner off the house. Started tearing out the ceiling to patch a damaged spot so I don't feel like I'm wasting time. Found some more damage but it seems like it's not so bad that the ceiling/ floor joist will need replaced but we're gonna hold off patching the ceiling till the guy checks it out Monday.

This is the worst feeling guys. I thought we were finally in the home stretch of just doing paint and simple repairs then this crap. I'm just demoralized on a whole new level.

Sorry, man. That ufcking sucks!

And just ran the seasoning cycle in the smoker. As well as bought a cart for it. Now just need to get a couple other accessories and bring on the smoked goodies

Now you can start cold smoking, COLD smoke cheese, Table salt, Garlic, Deviled Eggs, Pepper corns, Butter etc. With keeping temps low and living in the Cold north helps. I must wait till it snows, before cold smoking again..

The house / termite damage?
Yep. The guy that was supposed to look at it today said he can't get to it anytime soon. The next guy I asked said he's too busy to take it on for a while. Two haven't called us back.

I don't want to keep looking at this gaping hole in my house and I don't know how long my wife will before I start hearing about it.

That blows man. I'm sorry. If I didn't live all the way across the country, I'd happily offer to come over and help.

That is my favorite episode of my favorite show.

Now, if you don't mind.....

I'm off to slay the werewolf of goblin mountain!

My dumbass should have gotten my safety inspection earlier this month before I switched to yellow lights on top. Apparently now in Virginia you can have auxiliary lights on the vehicle and pass inspection as long as the lens, reflectors, and lights are clear. So my grille lightbar is fine, but since my new lights up top are yellow I have to wait till my covers get here. The code now specifically disallows tape, foil, etc for temporary covers, so that won't work.

Technically the LED bulbs in the headlight housing will fail too, but I'm hoping those go by unnoticed. I'd rather try it and pay the $1 to bring it back for reinspection than to go through all the trouble needlessly up front.

Anyone ever buy a vehicle from far away? Got my eye on an X but it's like 6 hrs away. Do you think a 3rd party inspection would be worth it or do I just need to suck it up and go look at it? Kind of tough to get away right now. This one has what I'm looking for and price is right.

If I was in that situation I'd contact https://lemonsquad.com/ and see what they inspect for and what it would cost. Sure beats 12 hours of your time and gas or plane ticket.
