Wife was repainting the living room today. There was a spot where the old paint was cracked and I started peeling it to investigate. Thought it was moisture damage.
As I climbed down off the ladder I touched the window trim and it crumbled in my hand. The crow bar came out and this is what we wound up with....

Now that you have the sheetrock and insulation out, just start putting new wood into support the ceiling so that you can rip out the eaten wood. Then you can replace. The window is the complication.

Get 2 drill bit's you can always return one / a good decent size metal center punch to get the bit centered / cutting oil - pneumatic oil work's also

Found more damage in the corner off the house. Started tearing out the ceiling to patch a damaged spot so I don't feel like I'm wasting time. Found some more damage but it seems like it's not so bad that the ceiling/ floor joist will need replaced but we're gonna hold off patching the ceiling till the guy checks it out Monday.
This is the worst feeling guys. I thought we were finally in the home stretch of just doing paint and simple repairs then this crap. I'm just demoralized on a whole new level.

Dang that Terminates, sure went to town on your wall. Might borrow one of those Inspection cable camera's. Poke few Test holes, to check out other locations.
I did a Bathroom Remodel, found two 2 x4s with Terminates. Never knew they were in house.. Replaced the Wood, sprayed the Wood and area with a high concentration of Permethrin. Sealed the wall back up.. DONE. I will know in 30 years. ;-)
