my mom used to shoot them at her uncles steer farm in Nebraska when she was young. she told me that if i ever see one out during the day, stay the ufck away from it and grab a gun cuz that thing aint right. (rabies, parasites, the devil and what not)

Possums are ugly disease ridden creatures that are damn near impossible to kill without heavy machinery.
That said, they don't hurt anyone and do a lot of good in eating other bugs. So they're OK by me.
