Well you guys just made me feel awful petty getting mad at Firestone when other people are losing loved ones to cancer. I suppose I have it pretty good.
Started seriously collecting Titan swap parts end of February.
Ordered up coil overs for the front in March.
It's freakin mid June and I'm still waiting.....................
Everything else is here to do it.
Getting seriously depressed about the whole thing.
Current front coil overs shot so I can't even head out off road at all.
Arrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh !!!!
What does one do if one finds themselves jobless all-of-a-sudden?
Definitely file for unemployment. Then if you feel you have a case you might talk to a lawyer. I don't really know what it will accomplish though.
Incredibly tough to get a judgment on.if wrongful termination: fat settlement.

Yeah I did and GA is an "At Will" state, which I am pretty sure TN is as well. It fell flat in less than a week.
Here is the problem with the breach of contract. When I left F&P, against my will, I was aware of the fact that they had "fudged" some test results and as such there were unsafe parts on the road. First problem is if you come forward after just being fired you look like a disgruntled former employee. If you wait and say something then you become as guilty as they are because you knew something and didn't do anything.
As bad as it sucks and as much as you don't want to hear it, the best thing is to pull yourself up and go on. That is what makes this country great, that you have the option/ability to move forward from your problems. I think we all remember when I got fired and lost my wife's car, my X, and my house. now I have a better job, a new house, and a new car. It sucked and there are people out there that had it way worse than me, but you CAN move on.
On a side note the company that you worked for is pretty big right? That means if you speak out against them you can rule out working in that field for the foreseeable future.
I still know that they are in breach of contract with one of their BIGGEST customers, which also cost me my job. That's the hard part.
I have no desire to ever step foot in an armored car again. Brinks is a great company, don't get me wrong, but I hated my job. I hated being out on a route and not knowing when I'd be home (traffic, wx delays, etc). I was in 2 accidents in a year, including one that slightly injured me that just happened to be my driver's negligence.
I've applied for 2 jobs today, but I've been in the same "field" for the last 10 years. It's all I know, but it certainly doesn't pay the mortgage by itself. Most physical security jobs are $10/hr jobs, if you're lucky. I need 1.5x that just to pay the mortgage and my utilities. Fortunately, the X is paid off, but honestly I'd sell it and buy a $500 beater car and pay off my bike before I sold my Vulcan.
I have a feeling there's nothing I can do about it, but it cost me my job and my livelihood. My pride is intact, but my wallet is not. That's the part that scares me the most.
I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to apply at Yates this week. Yes, DRB, I know your experience with them, but I know plenty of others who have been hired by Nissan. It also helps when your dad is a Senior Manager, at least I hope it will.
I dunno how DRB's experience with them was, but for the 3.5 years I was with Yates (before I transitioned to Nissan) they were a decent company to work for. Their starting pay is now $15.50/hr and the cap out is $18/hr if you're not hired on to Nissan by then. Talk to Malin_Rebate. As far as I know, he works night-shift on the Trim & Chassis plant. He'd be able to give you better insight into the way Yates is now.I have no desire to ever step foot in an armored car again. Brinks is a great company, don't get me wrong, but I hated my job. You should have mentioned you have power/air tool experience. The pay jumps quickly from there instead of going to the base-pay, "picker" job. There are 3-4 days of unpaid training and paperwork, but the pay jumps from $12.50/hr to $15.25 with the ability to advance.
Yates is currently hiring anyone and everyone. Everyone from my group seems to have gone to either Body and Stamping or Paint (40/63).
