Happy to see you on XN Macguyver!! You are one cool cat and enjoyed hanging with you at nXm and afterwards when we dropped off supplies for the tornado victims in Alabama.
Thanks buddy, happy to be here. I have so many how to's and subscribed threads on TNX that it makes a complete switch nearly impossible, but I have to admit the BS I have been seeing lately has given me some serious doubts in the leadership there.

Shoot, the flow in here needs some stimulation. I keep trying to think of threads for JUST the vip forum but can't think of much. The more activity in here the better.

^ honestly MAC one of the things you could offer in here would be VIP giveaways and announce them in the general forum. It wouldn't have to be anything special but it would probably generate more interest in the lifetime membership.

Nice that's a great idea. I'll leave the giveaways up to Dave ;) All I wanna do is help with promotion and thread ideas. My giveaways would end up being used OEM parts from my shed ;)

OK so this is a semi private thread so... What da hell really happened to TNX? Everyone is jumpin ship like rats onna sinking boat? It's nice that they've finally realized this is the place to be, just hope the problem don't attempt to follow.

TNX has shown yet again that its a company out for money instead of for xterra owners. Their latest money grab was the straw that broke the camels back for many. They abandoned tapatalk for an app riddled with ads or a ad free paid version with none of the functionality of tapatalk. Go on their forums and read the are you serious thread. People were a tad upset lol

TNX - the owners (AG) are going for yet another money grab by disabling tapatalk forcing users to use their ad driven mobile app. Seriously not cool.

I read a bit of the thread. It seems to me that people are more upset because people are complaining about the change rather than the change itself. Personalities have taken over rather than logic. People are fighting to keep what they want and no one is going to agree. AG can do what they want, It's up to the users to decide if they except it or not, Like the man said "if you don't like it...just leave."

The issue Gregg is they preached no changes are coming a year ago when they bought it... But every few months they strip away something else...
Its all about add revenues to them. I feel for the people that give them money as a supporting member. That money doesnt go back into the site or clubs at all.

They charge sponsors 100+ a month to be on there.. They like to work with google adworks to pop more money out of the site. They own 300+ sites..
I know when I looked into site sponsorship with B&M Lightbars on CX they ship you out a nice PDF with how they rank there forums and what ad placement will cost per tier.
CX and TNX are what they call a 3rd tier site. They have 4 tiers.. This is based on traffic to the site. Sites like GMinsidenews and ford forums are there big money.. I bet they earn 200 per sponsor a month.

I bet all the sites together earn them 50k a month.. So its big biz to them. They are sneaky bastards too... When I started this forum and finally hit the search engines they bought up xterranation.com
Its how they work.. .com's are 1st in search engines.. I didnt think about how sneaky they are till someone in the community informed me on how they work. If I want to buy that .com it will cost me 1k
from them.. If this site gets active they will try and hit me up... I really think they attack sites too.. It was odd that TNX 1 month before selling went down.. I think they do this to freak the owner of the sites to think about selling.. I know it sounds all conspiracy like but learning how they work it could be..

Either way it would take a act of gobble for them to buy this site... 10k lol.. But really if I get done with all of this it will move on to the people here...

Give them one more year and that site will have Ad's everywhere.. The small time/local Xterra parts guys will be pushed out in the name of ad money..

Gregg they are a pretty tight group over there much like we are.. so these unwanted or unwarranted changes freak the base..
and right or wrong that is good for XN..

I look at XN like jeep forum.com Why cant we not have all Xterras under one roof? I have learned cool new ideas that transfer iver all the time..
and maybe if we are all one group instead of splintered groups Nissan will take us seriously.

Dave, I understand it's all about the $$$ with AG. It's what they do. And you are right to believe they will be here after XN soon enough. My point was it's moot to argue on TXN amongst themselves because it's not going to change anything. "Buds" that once were friendly are now fighting/arguing over something they can not do a thing about but come over to this wonderful friendly site. Your points are taken and very valid... I hope things work out the those members that stay (sorta).

I hope it works out as well.. I honestly wasn't registered on TNX all that long. I thought it was better than it turned out to be.

Some of us came here and, became supporting members, very shortly after checking things out. For me that says a lot about XN! From what I have already seen people here genuinely try and help one another.

Fellas, please tell me that the Nation site gets backed up somewhat regularly. Just in case of attack, i mean. Id like to see this site keep running and i just paid for a membership. How else can i help? Send me stickers and i'll hit up local X's, 4 Wheel joints, and mechanic shops, if you'd like, to expand membership. I'll also share them with the local Ham Radio clubs. It's the best i can offer.

What I didn't like was so many people we're outraged. The TNX owners ignored them. The mods showed division and no knowledge of the situation. Then lately they have people going in and calling other people whiners. It seems that that want you have an opinion...right up to teh point where you actually form that opinion...then the buck stops. What really tuned me off today was the people in that thread attacking others for sharing their opinions - including a vendor account that verbally attacked drbandkgb by name (which seems horribly unprofessional and not someone I'd do business with). I was definitely on the fence with the whole money grab...but the people just turning on others there without any regard shows me that the forum is no longer a social gathering - it's a social club. Social club syndrome kills forums.

I'm with Zombietech. I've only been with that site since 2012 and apparantly unless you are a "vet" poster they don't give two craps about you or your opinion anyways - you clearly do not matter to them. That's not a place I'd want to be at.

I think our social forum still has plenty of information and definitely lots of Xterra talk. Heck, I can honestly say my friends on this forum know more about me than most of my other friends. That makes the social aspect important, not a detraction. We'll chill over here and have fun while they create threads where they tell members to "hit the road"

it's truly a shame to see TNX turn into a pile of "mierda"....after all, it was home to a TON of really useful info....

also, yes, mac, we do know....about that one thing, don't worry though, we won't tell your wife ;)

Not to keep dragging this on but from my perspective. Like 5 years ago when I first joined tnx, it was a great forum a bunch of friendly supportive people. Then it started to change. Hard to notice at first but it felt different. Cliques started forming and new people were brow beaten.
If you didn't have a big built rig, very little respect was given. Fortunately I have a great group of guys here in Florida. We don't get together often but any one of us would help each other out at the drop of a hat. So I stuck it out over there.
Then AG took over. Didn't like it but still put up with it. We slowly started losing any kind of control. We were told "nothing will change". Well that was BS. We lost our voice. People were getting banned for stupid stuff or no reason other than voicing opinions.
New stuff was popping up for money making schemes. With no explanation until we called them out on it. Moderators started getting gobble complexes. I could keep going but you probably get the idea. There was no feeling of community anymore.
Then came the whole mobile app thing this week. Not a big deal to some. But to some of us it was the last straw. The corporate thugs saying "its our way our the highway". So to shorten this long story many of us took the highway...and now that we're/I'm here, I feel a better place. Hell, after a few days I've become a supporter.
The Nation feels like TNX did way back when I joined then. I gained so much knowledge there, its their loss. Bringing that knowledge here.

Now back to the regularly scheduled broadcast.

Hey now, not ALL mods are bad over there.....

(I'm a mod over there, even though I'm usually on here...since the BS became a bit intolerable over there)

Yea, don't get me wrong. There are good people over there, even good moderators. The jerks and corporate douches ruined it for everyone.

This was exactly how I was treated and I joined months before the AG thing. Anyone who has seen my threads knows I want my X to look good. I don't care for trails or all that nonsense.

to each there own. mines a pavement princess too. (jk) :)

Hey, just sayin, not all mods are bad ;)

I'd happily handle any responsibility level, if the forum was one I could stand to be on...

As long as you are happy with what you have done with your X, it shouldn't matter to anyone else. Sure we mostly want nicely built vehicles, whether they are pavement princesses, mud lovers or rock climbers. Here in the Nation all are accepted. I don't remember how long it was before I became a lifetime supporting member here, I am now and I love it. I love the sense of belonging. Even if I don't post all that much, I still know I am welcome here. I am a registered member over there. But I spend all my time here.

Ok, I'm done. Thanks..........
