I'm surprised they don't issue some sort of badass kit...
If I want to use an issued one I have a couple choices. And these reasons are personal choices and opinions.

the Mystery ranch Rats bag (23L capacity) it’s an over all descent bag for organisation but I find it small. There is no extra space for water or food. Specially since it barely has enough space for all the crap the military wants me to carry

the Mystery ranch Rous (56L capacity). Overal descent larger bag. I feel it’s too long and slim feels more like a ruck sack then a med bag ( can’t put the med bag inside the ruck sack for long missions) has lots of space for extra food and water and at least a pair of socks

ctoms med bag. I have one and very similar to the rats. It’s a smaller med bag with little to no space for water, food, or space Sox. And doesn’t fit well on your back regardless of body armour or not. Also I’ve had one of their bags catastrophically fail 5 minutes before stepping off on a patrol when I was in Afghanistan

I would certainly hope that this post isn’t visible to people who haven’t signed up yet. Because that’s pretty off putting.

I agree as well, however, there is a plethora of other posts in this thread that fit in that category.
I completely understand what you folks are saying. It could be really off-putting. However, posts like that (generally good natured venting amongst folks who regularly converse but might look suspect from outside the ranks) is how secret forums and threads get started, to shelter the new folks till they get acclimated.

But maybe we should keep things like this in the "let it out" thread where rage venting is meant to be?

I always assume that all these forums could be seen by women and children. I also realize that what goes on in this forum is general chit-chat, teasing, swapping of lies, and conversation. I'm not a prude by any means, but I agree with Terry.
What I say in the garage stays in the garage and doesn't come into the house where kids, girl friend, parents, friends and even the pet can hear it.

People here have posted their open support for extremist domestic terror groups, semi-regularly post memes and other content that is homophobic, racist, sexist, and check pretty much every other box you can think of, make all sorts of crude jokes, and then call out somebody for saying they hate cats? Really?
