They took an unmodified ocarina of time cartridge, hooked up 4 controllers, and rewrote part of the game on the fly. The premise was to show off "left over beta assets" but went much further
Interesting....

I've been watching a ton of retro game stuff lately. There's also a guy who's doing a total remake of ocarina of time in the unreal engine. It looks incredible.

I spent the better part of about 6 hours watching a complete play through of majoras mask 3d while working on Thursday/Friday.

Wife's work friend and her husband are doing fireworks tonight with his buddies. Wife's a little peeved with me that I don't want to go.

She's going up anyways because she's on call tonight and they live a lot closer.

But I don't feel like driving over an hour with the kids just to be alone around a bunch of folks I don't know.

Here's the video of Ocarina of Time getting horribly abused. It should be queued to the start of the fun bit, with the last bit of setting up the memory glitching.
A little background: the guy on the left (Savestate) is controlling Link for the bulk of the run. The guy on the right (Sauraen) is the one who is explaining the run and conceived this... Thing. The guy in the back (DwangoAC), manages the TASbot community and is handling the code injection during the run. They spend about 10 minutes setting everything up, about 20 seconds doing the initial code injection using only the four controller inputs, then continue to inject code as they transition from room to room. Once the injection starts, they show off some beta assets there were still in the cart, and then tell a story based on some of the rumors that surrounded the game back when it released.

All of this is done with an unmodified N64 (except for a higher quality video out) and an unmodified 1.0 Ocarina cart.

In order to change the tensioner, I need to pull the upper rad hose, fan shroud and fan. More than I was anticipating. Ugh. Be busy in the 100° Temps tomorrow.

I bought my 8 gallon action packers for like $10 each, and the cheapest I can find a 24 gallon version is $50 at REI. Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart, etc all more expensive. I’ve found alternatives, but all of them would hold water in a rain. Looking for a storage thing for the trailer.
