Watching "Murder Island" with the Mrs.

It's a British show, four teams of amateurs are trying to solve a (fake) murder. Yes, they try to get all pulp detective and the real detective observers have to wrangle them back.

Haters gonna hate.

But after my wife’s cancer diagnosis a couple years back, we made a choice to enjoy life to the fullest. And it brings happiness to her, so yeah. There’s that.

Well my oldest uncle [ either 91 or 92 in about a week or so ] pulled his last crab trap's on sun . He's worked on the Chesapeake bay his whole life not even finishing high school to be a full time Watermen . How many people do you know that did or would do the same job for 74 YEAR'S , give or take . He's still up at 3am just watching TV and drinking some coffee and peering out the window of his house on Mill Creek watching the weather and tide and keeping an eye on the boat's tied to his dock . I wished I had 25% of his knowledge , he's forgotten more about the water then most know who are out there working right now. He's only one of two people who get's my complete respect and admiration. A job Well Done !!

About 20 minutes from it. Bacon good. Ham bad.
You just haven't had it done right. Get a spiral cut section. Its pre cooked but cook it on the grill on top of cedar planks. Dont use the shiat glazes they send with it make your own. Stone ground mustard, OJ, molasses, and ginger and either gloves or all spice to taste.

If you have any leftovers make Cubans out of it.

And yes bacon is the best

You have to pull that card? I dont blame you one bit. My MiL had a round of breast cancer 2 years ago she's doing well now. Hope your wife is doing the same.

I really like Christmas I just can't stand the constant 3-4 month barage of it. If you give me a start date of black Friday I can make it through the season without turning into the grinch

As said. Grew up 20 minutes from Smithfield. Had it every way imaginable. If you have to add that much stuff to it to make it taste good what does that mean about the base product?

As a thinly slide additive to a sandwich, it's not offensive. I love a ufcking Monte Christo. That has ham in it. But it has a lot of other things going on.

Cubans are another good example. Solid sandwich. Yes. Contains ham, but, has a lot going on.

But just a slab of ham on a plate? Nah. Miss me with that shiat.

All other pork products ftw tho. Bacon, sausage, pork chops, tenderloin, etc. Just no ham.

I don’t see the barrage of Christmas. Then again, I don’t watch much TV. And when I go to a store, I’m expecting everything to be commercialized. So it doesn’t bother me. I chose not to let things like this make me angry. Anger is a secondary emotion. You can choose what to do with it.

And yes, I get to pull that card lol! It’s been a hard couple of years. This year has been a bitch to boot. So my ass is making pumpkin pie, celebrating Thanksgiving as many days as I can, and putting up Christmas decorations two months early. Our Halloween decorations were up mid September. Yeah, the neighbors look at me funny, but it ain’t about them.

I came home to the wife and youngest daughter putting up the Christmas tree. I'm troubleshooting the prewired lights.

Electrical maintenence at work, and at home.

We put ours up a few weeks before Thanksgiving last year.... Because we needed some cheer. This year it's going up the weekend after Xmas.

We've already started shopping though. Spread it out a bit more so it's easier on the bank account.

Eating too much today. Ribeye and provolone sandwich for breakfast, BBQ and doughnuts for lunch. Then who knows what the wife will be fixing for supper....

In the office pre-pandemic, I was all about the Cole Haan zero grands. They were pretty comfortable and I only had an issue with one pair that I had to glue the back of the sole. After WFH for a year and a half, now that I am back to having to go in a couple days a week, I am just wearing my Adidas Ultraboosts for maximum comfort.

Thank you for this. I really could use a casual boot/shoe to wear in the office too. I will look into those.
