500mcm 25Hz cable blew in half. Waiting on my engineer who's waiting on my "boss" who's waiting on my engineer (and so forth) to decide what we're doing to fix it.

What was going through it to blow something like that?
It was probably put in between 1945 and 1955? Parallel tri-plex 500 with 400ishV 25Hz power. Aerial cable tie to a tower snapped and dropped it down on a steel beam. Old feed to the derelict kiln 25Hz-DC M-G set. Now the 800A power breaker feeds a MCC with two 20HP sump pumps in it.

I want to know why Nissan hates us so much.

They have a body on frame, live 5-link rear axle (which is a 3rd member unit), optional manual transmission, 4x4 mid sized SUV in the Philippines called the Terra. They could just drop a USDM engine in that and sell it here. But no.

nissan is infuriating. I was just talking the other day with friends about how Nissan already had all the parts to make the xterra just as capable as the new bronco offroad but didn’t have the balls to do it.

I would much prefer a CVT to a 9 speed. These high count autos shift themselves to death....
I HATE the CVT. The Ex's Ford 500 had a CVT, shiat the bed at 94k. My buddies wifes altima, her CVT shiat the bed at 99k. The Rogue CVT (looking at you, @Muadeeb ) is the most notorious, and they rarely last beyond 100k. Plus, the Rogue is "heavily suggested" to have a drain and refill of the CVT fluid about every 30k to extend the life.

To say I am not a fan, is a massive understatement.

Yeah, 120k ish it locked up. Maybe the 2nd gen cvt is better, but up until 12 it was the first gen

ufck no shiat? Sorry man I had no idea. Worries me for my mom (hers is an '11 Krom- 95k) and one of the reasons I think I'm going to sell mine. Just too much risk.

This is the problem. The way CVTs have been introduced has left a bad taste in people's minds.

From a technological perspective, a CVT should be superior to an automatic in terms of reliability, gas mileage, and performance. Fewer moving parts, no sudden changes in RPM or engagement and disengagement of gears, and the ability to hold the engine exactly at peak power while changing the ratios to allow for acceleration.

But. The way they've been built and used everyone hates them. Because they've been built poorly. And Nissan is a huge culprit in this.

I 100% agree with everything you just said. I want to love it. The one in my Ex wifes Rogue is butter smooth. In theory its far superior. But I have had so much personal bad experience, I just cant trust it and wouldn't buy a car with one. When the Ex dumped the Rogue on me, the first thing I did was "spill and fill" the fluid as is currently popular thought, and would keep doing it every 30k as recommended if I kept it, but its just worrisome.

Guess I need to do the fluid in my moms, as it hasnt ever been done. Just afraid that if I did and it suddenly failed she might think i did it. hahaha
