Prius Plow down!
ok, so, I've seen a few pics, but, nobody's said what actually happened....can someone clarify?
Prius Plow down!
I floored the accelerator down a massive fin so I could launch off another one. I hit that thing at about 60mph. The landing was a little squirrelly and I laid it down. It was epic.
Just kidding. There is a deep, blind hole below my driver's front wheel. On the right is a small, sidewall-ripping ledge. The wheel slipped down into the hole, we tipped in, rocked upright, then it tipped over onto its side.

and, be honest, how many times would we have to beep out the soundtrack if there's in-cab footage?
I wouldn't want my mother or my kids to hear what came out of my mouth.
oh F#ck this was you???Prius Plow down!
So does your insurance company cover off roading? I was always curious about that
Well slasa, hopefully you have better luck than me.. Looks like mine is totalled... I got the option to buy back and will be doing a lot of cutting and welding... Good luck brotha!
It depends on your insurance company and your policy but rumor has it that if you're truly off road then they can reject your claim. I was on an established, actual BLM road in the Sand Flats Recreational area.
I am guessing it was on its side for 30 minutes. Once upright we let it sit for 10 minutes but then we had to move it out of the way. It smoked pretty good. It sat for another 15-20 minutes at least. It smoked for another 100 yards and then was good. We didn't pull the plugs either. It didn't even spray coolant or anything. I am actually surprised that we didn't displace a lot more fluid. No glass broke at all. The front Windows were down. Surprisingly, no driver's side glass broke. The sideview mirror snapped off and the mirror cracked but no glass. We only had to pick up the little plastic bits and personal belongings that fell out to clean up the trail. The pics of the damage don't look bad. I have been concerned about the B pillar which is pretty bad. However, I just learned from the shop that they are actually concerned about the A pillar. It caved more than we thought. The claims adjuster will have to take a look before anything is determined. Should know more in the next 48-72 hours.
Thanks for the details...musta been a little disconcerting sitting on your side with an up close view of the slickrock? Amazed the glass on the DS was intact!
Good point, next question is, do the seats need cleaning?
Full replacement. ;-)
The Plow is being repaired. $15k in damage. Version 2.5 will be out in about 3 weeks. I'll see if I can get pics of the progress.
