Roady, I have 4 of the H3 LED bulbs in white that I have no use for if you want to try it. Not sure how the brightness will compare, but it might be worth a shot.

The white bulbs I have are 6k. It's as white as white can be. Just before it turns blue. Compared to a halogen bulb they may look blueish. But they are white

I bought a fire extinguisher the other day and was thinking of mounting it to the passenger side A pillar. I will use bolts with locking washers and have the actual unit touching the dash for added support. It will be mounted behind the Oh **** handle. Ideas? Yes no?

I want easy access but I don't want to make it unsafe. If I were to be in an accident (knock on wood) I don't want it to become something else I have to worry about flying around. I could mount it in the rear somewhere however the back of my seats is already tied up with the sub woofer box and my storage tote

I guess my question is this :is it safe to mount a fire extinguisher to the A pillar?

And it is a skinny one, essentially a one use extinguisher, depending on the fire.

i probably wouldn't put it on your apillar personally. because you figure if you hit something with enough force that thing is either going to hit your head. or crack your windshield and send shards to your face. if you have a fire in your car most likely its going to be totaled out anyways unless you stop it within seconds.

I thought about it but I am thinking that behind it might work as well. I want to pull my oh **** handle on my side and mount a maglite there, or quick fists.. Then again I'm going to end up putting gages either there or in the center like Luke has done.

I think the gauges on the drivers A pilar is the best option if you want gauges. . I've got my Maglite mounted in the back on the top of the drivers side rear quarter window. Yes, I have to get out to grab it, but thats the full size. I have a mini LED Maglite that is accessible to the driver.

This is what I was thinking

It wouldn't be resting against the windshield for vibration purposes and I may set a piece of felt or something on the bottom to keep it from tearing into the dash.

This makes me want to actually mount mine. Looks good man. Are you going to do the mag light now?

I am not sure, right now the mag lite rests between my floor mat and the seat (I feel like I need a picture to explain this) but I figure if I am going to put a gauge cluster on the A pillar then I need to keep my side clear. The only thing I want to know is how long the FE is going to stay red. I want to know if it will start to fade in the sun.. I bought it for cheap so I don't really care, and the mount seems universal so I could always just get another one (probably should for safety purposes, to get a new one every once in a while).

I might have to get creative with the maglite, do something unique with it. Just like this extinguisher.. I don't know of anyone who has done it like this..

Did you try the other type? There's 4 of the ones you have pictured and two of another

Will they not seat all the way in the lens?

The longer ones will not fit all the way because the front of the bulb hits the glass in the front. I am thinking of building a spacer for the lights.

I didn't realize there are 2 different types.. the shorter ones I am sure would work. I will save those for later, if I get more lights.

Wow those are long. Hella 500s don't have much room behind the bulb either. I'm surprised those are made like the. Even if there was room without hitting the lens the light wouldn't be hitting the reflector at the proper angle and would change the beam pattern.

Well I was planning on putting an evenly sized spacer around the light to essentially just pull the light out of the housing. I am not sure how they are going to work.. might not work at all.

Were you able to get the shorter bulbs in? I need to see pictures of the housing. Curious to know what your space constraints and options are

I turned them on.. I'm not sure how well they will work as they might not be hitting the reflective parts correctly, as in the light pattern might be very scattered. We will see when I'm able to push them back up (right now it's humid and the caulk is not drying..)
