Hi fellow "X-Heads"! New member in Mass. Just picked-up a 2014 Xterra Pro 4X today! Finally gave up with providing life support to my old 1999 Dodge Durango SLT. It was time. I am over whelmed with all the electronics I need to learn, but the truck is a solid machine!

I am a Fishing/Fly Fishing Master Instructor for the State of Mass Angler Education Program, and did that for 5 years for LL Bean as well. Gets me out into some remote places! Also very involved with the Hammock Camping/Backpacking community see:
http://www.hammockforums.net , and Bushcrafting, see http://www.BushcraftUSA.com - which REALLY gets me to some remote locations! This new Xterra is the *PERFECT* vehicle for me!

Learning about all the possible mods, and certainly will do some eventually. Raingler roof net and handholds will be ordered tomorrow, along with real interior cargo nets up and down.

This, I think, will be a fun ride! Glad to be here, hope to learn a lot about this amazing new vehicle!

Drive safely!

Welcome

Keep a look out for me, I'm often driving from North Shore to South Shore.

I had a Durango too, I miss the full size cabin but a constant fixer upper...

Thanks for the welcomes guys! It was time for the Durango to be put to rest. Been trying to fix the steering for the last year, and dumped about $2700 into other repairs to keep it alive. It was a beast for a lot of years! 1999 was on a serious truck frame, and the 5.9 L V8 was a real power plant! Hungry though...would pass everything but a gas station.

Here she is: lifted 2" front, 3" rear, underarmor - skid plates on tranny, Xfer, gas tank.

Now, the Xterra era begins for me!

Hard to find anyone that will do aftermarket work, there is Truck Guys in Weymouth but at $90 an hour I haven't been there.

There's been a few Mod days in RI, Ricel and a couple guys have helped me with the Shrock, Gobi, LEDs, and a TS. I really didn't know much about the X to begin with but over time those guys have taught me a lot.

Check out nexterra.org , a local xterra off road club with Mod days, meet and greats and of course wheeling events. I did one just before the winter and at the time, it was perfect for a stock X.

Thanks. I gave up trying to register at NExterra.org. Keep getting an error message about a number wrong, no matter what I do! Can't even msg the admins to check it out. This forum worked, thankfully!

Welcome from VA! XN is the last X forum you'll ever need. Heh. What color did you get on your Pro-4X? Where are the pictures?!

Send me a PM with your username, I'll pass word on high and get you in. That security feature is kind of a pain. Alternatively, if you sign up on TheNewX.org, you can PM MtDewMike there.

Howdy from Jamaica Plain! I teach welding and metal casting here. I run welding classes for local guys, and the very very occasional mod day (shop is usually scheduled out the wazoo). I'm mostly in Boston and Brookline (and creepily driving past c3po's apartment) but I spend a fair amount of time in Milton too. Lots of new guys from the South Shore lately.

And the fun begins! Had the X for two days. Today ordered. Raingler Roof Cargo Net, four premium handgrips, large interior floor cargo net, and a large interior roof net. Now I can carry stuff. Hehehe....

Welcome from the west end of the state. There are going to be a few event coming up in the next months. I personally will be doing a week long trip to Northern Maine in August. Some great fly fishing up there. Even though I can't cast my fly rod.....

===> Thanks! I get out to the Berkshires a couple if times a year for our hammock camping meet ups. Charlmont for one, and the Mohawk Trail State Forest. Will also be camping at Lithia Springs, and Mount Greylock this Summer. I'll give a shout when I go - maybe I can help you cast that fly rod better! [emoji2]

Welcome from RVA!

Good to see more MA Xterras, I am original from MA, moved to VA 5 years ago.

They are right, XN is the best site out there for these rigs.

===> Wow - familiar with almost all those shots! Where is the Indian statue in Mohawk Trail NP? We are usually in the Group Area up at the top if the hill to the right.Especially liked the M-48 Hawk in the last one - (old 'Nam Recon Rat).
