Hey guys, I've been lurking here for a while and up until last week, I had pretty much kept my X stock since I bought in in '08. But then the plastics started to fade so I decided to paint them and that somehow made some sort of switch flip. So now I just picked up a body lift (DIY, on the cheap) and I am looking at picking up the AC articular 3" SL and then getting a bumper made by RLC (I talked with James for a bit and he can make what I want, now I'm just waiting on the funds) and then I am looking at some new steel wheels and 33s. Here's how it looks now with the recent plastic respray. I also decided to take the color up some and go with the same grey along the body line and down. Hopefully it won't stay this low to the ground for long ;) I plan on putting on the BL next weekend.

I also just recently took out the resonators in the air cleaner and also removed the rear sway bar.

Welcome to the Nation. I fully intended to leave my Xterra completely stock too. That "switch" that flips the first time you do one minor little thing is was we call the mod bug around here. Once it bites you there's no hope of recovery. Thank goodness for mod bugs.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

It's weird too, because I have had this thing for about 5 years and have kept it completely stock until now. But now I feel this "need" to do things to it and take it out in the mud... I've had it in the mud and sticks plenty of times, but I have yet to see its full potential.

So with the paint, my masking tape edge lines got really sloppy on the back hatch; I let the paint dry too much so it took the edging away from the paint when I pulled off the tape. So in order to clean that up, I am thinking about putting a vinyl pinstripe around the edge of the gray on the sides, hood and hatch. Should I do red or go with a Calmini blue-ish color? I'm really leaning towards the blue, but it would have to be a special order item. The red is readily available at the Auto Zone that is about 300 yards from my door.

I really think the blue would look better with your color scheme. Besides, just anybody can go to the Zone and get red.

Welcome in!

Chances are you'll reach your full potential before you reach the X's. But that way you get to grow as an offroader while it grows as a rig. You'll see what really needs to be modded then you can go from there. Mine surprises me with what it can do more and more on each wheeling trip. They definitely don't get the credit they deserve as offroad vehicles.

Welcome, I still remember the day that I said " I don't see myself needing a steel bumper ". that was a long long time ago. And still kind of funny when I look back on it. The ironic thing is that I bought my bumper off of the same guy that I said that too all those years ago.

Thanks for helping me spend my money ;)

Do your sliders work with a 2" BL? I should have mine on next weekend! I may also be hitting you up on a B&M lightbar and some lights pretty soon.

Welcome to the group. I really like how your X looks with the side painted like that. That's making me want to try that.

Thanks! It took longer to mask the whole thing off than it did to actually paint. Either people like it or don't... I just ordered some bright blue pinstriping today so that should give it some pop of color, aaaaaaand it should cover up where the edges got messy from the edge line of the paint coming off with the tape...

I also started PB blasting my body mount bolts and stuff earlier this week, so hopefully they should be ready to go this weekend and I should be able to do the body lift. The wife is going to be out of town for the weekend too so that should mae the job go even smoother ;)

Holy crap....I just realized that you were another Hampton Roads Local! (I can be a little slow sometimes)

There needs to be more of us down in this neck of the woods. Give the Heepers a run for their money.
